Yes, the SMEP event should replace the one in death_events.txt. It is not a major issue, you just get two different messages and slightly different results
 
Right I had a couple of busy days at work, so I couldn't post, if I disappear for a couple of days think nothing off it. My work tends to mean I have large stretches of time followed by frantic periods of stress ;).

But there is a sue for peace event (probably event 66) previous to it which I can't see at a quick glance around germany/japan/uk/france etc files, try searching out what triggers event 3409 :), I can if you really need it for something.

But it would be more helpful to hear why it is not firing for you or moreover about your current game to diangose the problem.

I can put one together now, if you think we have the bulk of the doubled events listed. It all depends how many further errors I come across when doing so, which is why i'd like to do as much as possible in one go.

The other event is a SMEP event, GER 3450, appropriately located in uk.txt.

Do you have any idea if SmepDD is compatible with DAIM for DD? It's only a day old, so i guess not :) But if not, will you make it compatible at a later stage? Smep+Daim was great, and it probably will be for dd too!
I wish i could help out, but school takes up too much time. :( So the little freetime i have i like to spend on other things. But thank you all in the smep team for your hard work :)

I didn't want to stress you, take your time and do it your way, it's you who has the work. And besides that, my addiction wouldn'i let me wait that long, i already started a new one!
 
Hello guys,

I wouldn´t raise this usually but a release of SMEP 5.0 seems imminent.

Up to now the method of creating the SMEP for DD seems to have been to copy events into the DD files (markmid correct me if I am wrong).

Would it not be better to start with the SMEP 5.0 event files and delete any conflicts?

I am mentioning this because we will probably have to start again as soon as SMEP 5.0 is out and from the screenshots it seems to be a major progress.

If we are more ambitious, we might even think of placing the SMEP events in the files where you can actually find them, like having the Atlantic wall in the germany.txt instead of the uk.txt ..... :D

That's something that I've been meaning to do for quite some time now...

Oh, and I found WAD glitch. As Germany, I conquered Yugo and released the individual states as puppets. When I release Serbia, an event fires which is something to tht extent of "Punish Serbia for starting WW1". So I follow the only possibility, and then recreate Serbia (to reduce TC load.)

And then the event fires again. Now I went in and found it and made the event have the trigger "NOT = { ispuppet = yes }" which seems to take care of itself. Or something to that effect.

This is no glitch. I made it impossible for the German player to release Serbia until the event fires after Bitter Peace.
 
Well, I edited it out.

I love the rest of your mod, but creating events that limit players freedom to a degree as big as that not only severely damages any role-playing, but also feels incredibly patronising.

Hey, just sayin'. Thank God Paradox games are so easily moddable, though.
 
Ok, just reporting back on my 1936 GER GC

I had Bitter Peace in March 1943, the complete event series fired ok. Two provinces that had been conquered by Hungary (Lvov and Stryj) ended up being a Soviet island, I had to edit that in the save file. I do not believe this to be a problem related to porting SMEP to DD but rather a detail in the event chain that needs to be fixed.

Romanian - Hungarian war fired also, which is a rather strange event since both nations had all their troops deep in Russia and conducted a fairly long phoney war until some troops arrived to actually do some fighting.

Has anybody noticed that events that increase resources in a province do not do that in HOI2 but that this function works in DD? A case in point should be the event that gives Breslau +50% energy in Bitter Peace. Another one is the shifting of Chinese industries to the interior. The events fire without error message, but the resources are not increased.

Despite the mighty Jedi´s assurance, the Atlantic wall events # 2, 3 and 4 never fired.

I've tested dozens and dozens of games for HOI2, and this has never happened.

I said these ARE NOT supposed to fire. That's WAD.
 
Ok, I had a CTD in December 1943 when Japan defeated China (still 1936 GER GC, myself as GER). This sort of robbed me of my motivation to continue playing for the moment. The events fired and the the game crashed ....

The issue of Lvov and Stryj reverting to the USSR in the course of Bitter Peace is strange and should not happen, I agree with Atruejedi. I will examine that a bit closer.

1. Free France get two (I believe) 1943 infrantry divisions when Vichy is created for a gameplay reasons, even in Vanilla.

2. Watch your language
 
Bulgaria switches sides?

Happened in my last game when playing Soviet GC with unofficial SMEP
Bulgaria switches sides event fired in 43 and next day they gave control of five divisions to me. Nothing unusual in that, but when Germans attacked in Bulgarian border they had over ten Bulgarian divisions with them, and my five Bulgarian divisions had same names as those with Germans. I always thought that all Bulgarian forces should disappear when Bulgaria switches sides. This never happened in HOI2 if i remember correctly.
 
I have some questions:
1. Does this mod work with the DDDaim?
2. Do the Sexxi Colour & Sexxi leaders files are included here? If they arent, can I use the sexxi colour\sexxi leaders files from the HOI2 smep???

Maps can be sexy! Always makes me laugh :rofl:
