But why? I don't understand what makes that forbidden.
Because you can discuss on it. Wikis are allowed, as far as I know, but the official wiki is recommended. You can discuss on commits too.

I thought the issue with GitHub was "The Mod should be exclusive to the members of this forum and or Steam workshop.", seeing as GitHub repositories (except private ones, but those don't work as download links) are publicly indexed by search engines and pretty easy to find in general.

I don't think there's a way to disable commit comments, but if that's the sticking point then each commit's conversation can be locked pretty easily as well.

Pretty nearly any mod can be found by Googling "[MODNAME] download" at this point, though.

Yes, that is a part of the issue, too.

Had A Dad, would you say that forum moderation would be improved or harmed by communicating with modders to explain possible violations before editing their posts to remove the links to their mods?

I would say you should really look at rule #2, next time it won't be just this warning.

Unapproved links are removed without warning

Fortunately wikis are allowed : the official wiki allows for only one page per mod... which is rather short.

Your wiki hosting seems to have expired; going to your wiki just takes me to a page of ads.

have you talked to @Meneth about that?
Nothing stopping individual pages from being huge.
Sub-pages for mainspace pages is abnormal on wikis, so won't be implemented unless there's a pressing need.
The current M&T page is tiny, so I'm not sure why it'd need several.

An example of a relatively long mod page: http://www.ckiiwiki.com/Historical_Immersion_Project
Nothing stopping that page from being even longer for that matter.

I did indeed.

Were i able to have our Wiki on the official site, i wouldn't have to pay for server space and a domain name... ;)

Edit : emu'd
@Meneth, there was a problem of communication, and i'm in the process of putting it back up (it's actually still up but needs to be accessed with the ip address of the server).

it sounds like you have a wiki page on the official wiki...?????

One page is usually not enough for a total conversion mod. Take a look at the VeF wiki to see what I mean - not sure if the forum rules allow me to add link to their wiki. Anyways, the VeF wiki has a lot of pages. Putting all that information into a single page might not work.

You are allowed, as much as towards the M&T wiki.

There is a huge difference between illegal versions of a mod being available and the he official version being available.

It might be the same place you get the mod, the difference being from where you access it from.

A link's a link. Once a mediafire or mega.co.nz or other uploader link is posted here, there's no way to control who shares it where. Google one particular popular mod, and Google will quickly spit back a Reddit page with access to the entire database of releases, no Paradox forums account necessary.

Challenge accepted

Everyone can see the wikis.

OK, so even those without having registered their games on the Paradox forum and thus not having access to the User Mod forum and possibility to download our mods, i.e., potentially illegal downloaders of our mods, could access and enjoy guides to the mods?
