It wasn't finished until after the game was released, as was the case with every mod except Age of Timur (created by Garbon, one of the FtG developers) and AGCEEP (developers of which created FtG).

Indeed! You could say so about Agung Pasha's MyMap as well, couldn't you ? ;)

My guess would also be that either Kasperus or Cool-toxic don't want their work to be commercially distributed, because there's nothing else that would keep Watkabaoi from being included in a patch, right?

For anyone interested here's an updated version of WATKABAOI_IDs.jpg. No errors have been corrected, but the resolution has been increased and digits are a lot more readable now. Klick on the detail image for the download link.

Also I take it that no bitching about crashes means the mod runs fine for everyone now.

It's also a 40 MB download. That might put some people off. (Then again, the whole game is download-only, so we're pretty much cutting out dial-up users from the get-go.)

I also know for a fact that Kasperus does not want any of his work in a commercial release.

Seems a bit strange to me, it will give the work 100 times more users, and you can argue that this game is not a commercial but a fan based production. I do hope he will change his mind.

Note to cool-toxic and anyone who plays the 1492 scenario: You need to delete "3219 3289 3846 5848" from the "history" list or else the end of the Kalmar Union will never trigger and Denmark won't annex Norway.

I adore the map that this mod uses but I've mostly only played AGCEEP before installing it and I'm finding the events a bit lacking so far. Do they pick up later on?

No mod has nearly as many events as the AGCEEP, and WATKABAOI is no exception, unfortunately. It has more events than the vanilla version of the game, and it uses events created specially for the EU2 mod AoI (extending the time frame to 1337 and 1914), but it still has far less events than AGCEEP. IIRC the period covering 15th to 19th centuries is covered better than the 14th century though.

CoolT has explained earlier that he is reluctant to include too many events in the game because it makes it too rigid. And of course, there are AGCEEP events which he dislikes much. I would add that, when the game comes quickly ahistorical, many events may become useless or even cause problems. But all in all, yes, I know what you mean, I also have that feeling that something's missing, events show you a path, guide you through it and add historical flavor.

loaded this mod and works fine except for start error for GER and LAT files.

was there an issue?

Has anyone noticed there's a problem with religions? Religions aren't affected by the tolerance towards their respective subgroup. For instance, a Catholic country always get +1RR in anglican provinces no matter where the protestant tolerance slider is situated. Despite that, everything seems fine in this mod's religions.txt so this might be a feature bug.

This mod looks amazing :) Well done.

But there is one thing.

I want to play the earliest age of the mod, but the Byzantine Empire has shields in Hungary and Austria. Even the shields in Egypt are quite absurd at this age. Can you tell me how i can erase them? Thank you.

You'll need to find the province id's and erase the number from the national provinces on the Byzantine Empire file. Sorry for such a vague help, but I don't edit file games in a long time.
