Congratulations, @Peter Ebbesen! I confess I'm likewise greatly in awe of writers who can do comedic writing with your level of consistency.

@coz1 Since I haven't read any AARs the last half year or so, I will take a pass on making a nomination.

Then pending @Qorten 's approval, seems it is first come first served in choosing the next showcase.

Does anyone remember a few years back when Disney gave us a new Star Wars movie every December? Those days may be over, but that doesn't mean we have to go without tales from the Galaxy far, far away.

Stellaris Wars: A Nemesis Ironman Saga II - Rebellion: The Imperium at War is a direct sequel to Stellaris Wars: A Nemesis Ironman Saga by @Arithmetician and takes all of the crazy Stellaris-Star Wars insanity from the original and cranks things up to eleven.

In the most recent update, the New Republic is locked in a destructive conflict against an extragalactic invader. The Galactic Capital and surrounding core systems have either fallen or are under siege. If you want to wrap up 2022 with a really good "against all odds" story, then this is the one for you. Give Stellaris Wars: A Nemesis Ironman Saga II - Rebellion: The Imperium at War by @Arithmetician a shot today!

A reassuring choice from one of the purest members of the Stellaris incest mines. Congratulations @Arithmetician , may the force be with you and your saga.

Ah, lost track of the time over the New Year’s holiday, but I suppose I need to nominate another AAR soon... I’ll see what I can come up with. Though the guidelines say that I should pick something outside of the game of my own AAR, and I haven’t really read any non-Stellaris AARs lately, so that makes it a bit tricky...

First of all, many congrats on your nod! It is well deserved. Secondly, the guidelines of incestuous choices are not hard and fast. Just pick something you think needs a showcase with more views and comments. That's the goal. :)

Okay, I think I have one.

While this actually goes back to the person who nominated me, I believe that this person and their AAR is more than worthy of it: The Last Heroes, by @Macavity116, and I can’t think of a better timing for this particular nomination, in light of the milestone that its author just reached.

Their AAR finished just last week, and is the final part of the ten-part “Stormbreaker Universe”, which Macavity116 has been working on for over five years, and includes collectively over a million words (with 228,657 words alone in "The Last Heroes”). That sort of dedication by itself should be commended and highlighted, but it also features well-developed characters and a compelling universe on top of that. So congratulations on your accomplishment, Macavity116!

That's the spirit. Well done, @Arithmetician !

I can think of no other that may deserve this more at this moment. Very many congratulations @Macavity116 for not only the showcase but the monumental task of completing a work as original and creative as the one that you have offered up these last years. We've discussed it in our sometimes forum gatherings, but it really is something special and I know how much you have put into it. Just marvelous! Cheers for your efforts and thank you! :)

Thanks for one final showcase, @Arithmetician and @coz1! I've been taking a bit of a break ever since The Last Heroes ended. The full weight of ending this giant story hit me harder than I was expecting. I'm glad this project is finally over, but I'm going to miss it for sure.

And allow me just one last wordcount brag:

The Harry Potter series has a cumulative word count of 1,084,170 words across seven books.

The Stormbreaker Universe ended with a total of 1,244,583 words across 883 forum posts.

The past four-and-a-half, almost five years represent the single biggest project I've ever attempted. I had no expectations for any installment in the series. I just wrote down some fantasy stories my sister and I made up when we were kids, injected elements from my favorite games, and we were off to the races. I enjoyed sharing my story with everyone here, and the back-and-forth with commenters as well.

It's been helluva ride. Thanks everyone.
