. I’ve certainly been around here a very long time now.
It’s now once again time to choose a successor and I have the perfect candidate in mind. The German Century is a Kaiserreich HoI4 AAR by @Basileus2. It includes one of the topsy turviest and most enthralling Weltkrieg’s I’ve even seen - with the French conquering 3/4s of Germany and reaching the gates of Berlin with the Russians advancing in the east only for the player to win back the Fatherland piece by piece. A worthy Showcase!

Its that time of week again, and as I was chosen last week for the AAR Showcase, now its my go to pick a new winner. I have been following a few different AARs over the last couple of months but the one that comes to mind for me for this week's award is Blood, Gold and Hellfire: An EU4 Anbennar, Mykx AAR written by @Sybot . Congratulations, Sybot!
Sybot's is a well written, campaign and narrative focused AAR that follows the travails a corsair kingdom in the fantasy mod Anbennar. When considering my options for this week, I wanted to go with something that's very different from what I usually play, which is modded up vanilla campaigns or alternate history mods. Anbennar has long been on my radar as a mod to try out but to be honest I've been a bit daunted by it given the massive amount of content, lore, new races, mechanics and such that are built into it. Sybot does an excellent job throwing you into the world while explaining all of these things. Sybot even has some community interaction with polls to help choose what paths to take next.
I think I'll give Anbennar a go for the first time this afternoon...
