Hm, reading the rules it does indeed look like council members are goodie roles like Yvanoff says. But in that case there are quite a lot of people who can vouch for eachother as safe goodies.

@alxeu: Is council member a goodie roles?

Not necessarily. It was positioned in that area of the rules in order to convey that they were replacing the seer and priest for this game. They are more akin to traits than roles.

Everyone makes really good points so far, and there are a lot of candidates. But I think the one that really resonates with my trail of thought is this one:

R.Graymarch -- Cast a vote that he goes to lengths to assure us is Random, but pushes Claude into the top candidate tier, possibly to the benefit of Marco, Avernite, or even Yvanoff or either Wombat.

I’m not entirely sure if it was actually random, giving the time and momentum that it took. So for now I’ll:

Vote Graymarch

I have never played a game with Cullan, how experienced of a player is he? Because from my not particularly experienced perspective his comment seems quite normal and I would feel bad lynching for something like that.

The comment from Audren smells a bit like insider knowledge (as in him extrapolating from the knowledge that none of his packmates are in a committee) to me and thus more worthwhile of running up than the case on Capi of not being that active (he seems to be getting run up a bit much for my tastes, which I think is a little suspicious) or Cullans inconspicuous comment.

Thanks for the clarification, I really misunderstood that part of the rules then (although then I don't really see why it is specified thereafter that initial council member can't be cursed - since it doesn't really matter whether they can be cursed or not if they can be baddie. But I guess it's minor nitpicking)

Not Voted: Marco the Aussie. hmm. Probably not showing tbh.

Couple of things:
  1. Arkasas had a throwaway on Dedonus day 1. Could be bad alibi.
  2. Euro tried to get traction on Arky yesterday. Capi asked why but ignored the non reason Euro gave. deathbywombat jumped on close to deadline when it wasn't going anywhere and stayed on, seemingly surprised a non-case went nowhere. The hunt could be either Euro or dbw wanting to follow through with their thoughts.
  3. Very little acknowledgement that Panzer was a part of a "seer council" except johho and alynkio on the side. I presume this means the lot of you have more information on this than I do and see no reason to discuss it, or you're doing that behind closed doors. Now does this mean there is no seer?
  4. Culann videofanning seer is dead.
I like cases based 1 and 4. Let's try 4 first.

Actually curious about point 1 here. Wonder if there's any willingness to test it. A few of the rest of the cases listed (culann, audren, graymarch) aren't terrible by day 2 standards, either. Not in love with the Capi or Yakman vote cases.

The case on Capibara seem decent to me, but I'm less sold on the main alternatives Culann and Audren. Culann seemed entirely ignorant of the council set up that replaced some major goodie roles. Some people have labeled this baddieish, but I'm not sure. Since alxeu has confirmed that baddies can be in the councils, I think there's a decent chance of a baddie in the starting councils, which would cause information to spread to their packmates. So a pack aligned baddie would probably be aware of the councils.

Audren comes under suspicion for basically the opposite reason, suggesting those off councils are more likely baddies. I don't really agree with this logic, but I don't think it's a sign of being a baddie either. Pretty decent chance of getting push back and I don't see it as the baddie tell some others seem to.

What exactly is the case against Capi? That he's tie happy? The Arkasas comment is currently the only real strike against him, and even that is meh at best.

Weirdly, I think literally the exact opposite of this post is true - Capi seems like a bad lynch to me, while Culann and Audren are real possibilities. Dedonus isn't taking off, so...

I still think Yakman is suspicious, but having 2 votes on him at the end of the day is irrelevant. I'd be willing to make the tie go a bit longer, just to see how it goes.

Ties 5 minutes before deadline, sure - information goldmines. Ties on day 1 without proper info - no, I'm not for them.
love this wealth of info we're using to decide between culann, capibara and audren.
