Ow. Just got back from a 20 mile hike and my legs are on FIRE.

Will probably have a couple comments to make in the morning when I'm actually resembling a functional human being.

Let's keep things interesting.

Vote Yakman

Have you been lying about being a wombat this whole time?
But, but... I thought it was a confession he is a werewolf getting ready to shape shift?

Here are the other priest councillors Spockyt, Latinkaiser and johho and my view on them, I think it'd be helpful if we all share our thoughts:

  • Spockyt - fully agreed with my suggestion for priest council strategy (rotate scans, reach out to seer(s) publicly by or before day 5), picked Claude based on sign-up order, first to add a back-up (Graymarch), decent enough voting record. He was on Culann with me day 2, but switched off after the witness claim IIRC. Culann was part of a run up of him up day 5 and was placed in the lead until I saved him and we tied two baddies of opposing packs. Little initiative shown to steer the council. I am convinced he's a villager.

  • Latinkaiser - went along with my suggestion without comment, was part of the reach out to the seers and thus has quite a bit of access to information. However, I get the impression that the wolves have had less information based on their hunts. Voted Culann with me on day 2 and De Chat before I sanctioned the TIE, overall good record. Picked alynkio backup Culann as scan targets. Likely villager.

  • Johho - agreed with my suggestion and proposed we rotate alphabetically to achieve orderly anarchy. Picked Yvanoff for a scan just before he got hunted (back-up dbw). More or less terrible voting record, only beaten by gluttonous wombat. Is either not really paying much attention this game or pulling a village idiot stunt to stay alive. Would be my second choice after high-BMI wombat for priest council baddie.

Yakman can still be evil, a zealot turned wolf is a possibility as seer scan on him was from before Agatha died and zealots turned wolves. Too bad the TIE wasn't reached yesterday.

As far as the most likely baddie priest councillor, I think it's DaHeavyWombat, we took turns initially before the reach out and his backup scan was Witch Agatha (who'd be a villager to us), he argued against lynching De Chatillon in our council chat and I think he's consistently avoided voting oranges, almost ruining a TIE saving one to boot. Now I also see that he was part of the switch that killed Capibara and saved Culann early game.

Sleepy's evidence seems pretty solid to me; FatWombat's totally unnecessary day 5 snipe away from De Chatillon seems particularly conclusive.

EDIT: I said to De Chatillon by mistake originally. Obviously, he sniped away from De Chatillon.

Forgot to do this earlier.

Culann flipping zealot turned wolf raises 2 couple interesting possibilities for orange starting packs.

The most likely is equal packs of 5, but the orange pack started with a cultist instead of a third wolf to balance their going first. Assuming an infected priest council, this would also allow them to keep tabs on three of their starting players, much like the yellow pack had Matthew to keep tabs on the 3 wolves of his pack. Seems like pretty clever design by the GM if so, and I'm going to assume this theory.

Possibly they only started with 4 players, and Culann was the last starting baddie of that pack, meaning that there's one and only one cursed wolf running around. This would seem to disproportionately favor the yellow pack though, as it would mean that the oranges had no representation on either council to start and had one less player than the yellows. I think we can discount this theory.

Speaking of cursed...

If FatWombat is indeed a baddie zealot, which I am pretty sure of at this point, then the game may well end here with a village victory. We know that Culann was a zealot turned wolf, so any replacements would have to come from a zealot turn or a cursed hit. The one no-hunt night means that there is one and only one possibility for a cursed, and we know sorcerers can't pick up apprentices (there's no mechanism for apprentices in this ruleset).

There's also a bunch of people that can't be cursed:

Whoever the last seer council member is (he was a starting council member; they can't be cursed)
sleepyhead, Spockyt, latinkaiser, johho (all priest council members)
The two members of the guardian council remaining (assuming a full set of 5)
The padre or doctor (or both, assuming both are in the game). At least those appear to be roles, not traits, to me and are usually uncursable roles.

So basically, your choices for a cursed are severely limited to me and whoever else is not one of these roles. I know I wasn't cursed (you obviously don't know that, and I suspect that I would be choice # 1 to be removed in a mass purge, which would be OK on an intellectual level and piss me off on a survival level).

Last post and I'm done.

7. LatinKaiser - priest council
10. Sleepyhead - Spokesman for priest council

Yeah I concede. After the DeChat fiasco there really is no more way to salvage this. Absolutely squandered the most blessed starting position imaginable.

GG guys.

GG Wombat :) You fooled me for a while.

I honestly was suspicious of some unscanned members of the JL.

Day 9
Was about to write up a votecount, but it seems that's unnecessary now:

Day 9: The Final Day
As you all prepared to exile the final reactionary from the Council, rather than face humiliation and potential mob justice, he instead chose to flee the Communes all together. Seeing little reason to hunt down a broken foe after this, the Council ended proceedings against the reactionaries, what with their complete destruction at the Council.

The remaining members of the Council, heavily influenced by the Ideology Committee, would go on to establish a more dogmatic means of maintaining the Communes, promoting an educational program full of propaganda in favor of the revolution. While the reactionaries were gone, and the threat of destruction of the Communes and the Council with it, it seems the reactionary influence will still be felt far into the future...

But why would you all on the Council care? You saved the revolution! It's time to party!

Winners:
MarcoRossolini the Villager and Sole Member of both the Revolutionary Committee and the Protection Committee.
LatinKaiser the formerly blessed Villager and Member of the Ideology Committee
Sleepyhead the Villager and Member of the Ideology Committee
Johho the Villager with used Priestly Powers and Member of the Ideology Committee
Spockyt the Villager and Member of the Ideology Committee
R.Graymarch the Hunter Villager
Yakman the Villager with used Priestly Powers
Deathbywombat the Cursed Villager
Liefwarrior the Villager

The Last Surrendered Baddie:
TheFatWombat the Zealot turned Wolf of the Hierarchy Pack and Member of the Ideology Committee

And that's a wrap!

Unfortunately for the baddies, it was nowhere close, but I suspect that to be on them killing each other as much as the village playing well.

As for the concept, I enjoyed it and it went about as well as it could, I think, but I don't think such a setup will work again for a while. Now that people know what to expect, I think the advantage would be squarely in the village's hands.

The method that new members of the committees were selected by was the surviving person with the most votes the previous day, who wasn't already part of the committee recruiting a new member. In the case of Culann becoming a committee member, the day he was chosen, Audren had more votes, but was already part of the Revolutionary Committee (the one that had a vacancy), so he couldn't join it a second time. Culann, the person with the third-most votes, was therefore the one selected.

When the Protection Committee had a vacancy, MarcoRossolini was already part of the Revolutionary Committee, but membership in one did not preclude membership in another, so he was free to join the Protection Committee.

LatinKaiser the formerly blessed Villager and Member of the Ideology Committee
@TheFatWombat I see what you did there. ;)

If you had hit DBW instead we indeed would have had a real problem.

@R.Graymarch did you ever tell the JL about your hunter trait? I never heard anything about it.

GG all, and big thanks to @alxeu for hosting such a fun, unorthodox setup! As I said in our council PM:
alxeu: you'll have to do guild analysis to win this game

also alxeu: hahaha fuck your silly guild analysis!
Will be back later for a proper breakdown of this game.
