I know I meant it throuout history :)

at the start (632) every province is independent as it means tribal area.

I could make a map where I would use tribal names so it would be political map

I thought it was mostly under control by the Caliph? Because he launched an invasion of Roman Syria and the Persian Empire that year ... so he must have united most Arabian tribes before ...

oh, you're right, of course

it depends. At the death of the Prophet many tribes claimed independence as it was usual (they subordinated to the person of Muhammad, not to the Umma/islamic state/caliphate)
if we start when the Prophet is alive most of Arabia should belong to him.
if we start when Abu Bakr rules, it there should be eventthat some tribes proclaim themselves independent but are easily defeated by the caliph

We can do that, but he needs already a powerful core so he can start attacking the Roman Empire and Persia in the same year.

would core like this be enough?

the ridda-apostasy was little larger, but I think this would represet the situation well enough.
purple are Romans, teal are Sasanids, + there is their vasal Hira
other names in red are names of tribes/states

Hope it's not dead

I sure hope this isn't dead, since there hasn't been any activity for a week. Anyhow, I have no clue how to program, but, since I'm Arabic and that's the history I learned at school before moving to Canada last year, I sure can offer help with history. I'm not sure if you guys need help, because you're doing great, really. I don't if you made up your mind about religion yet, but I don't think you should include any muslim sects besides Sunni and Shitte (not sure of spelling in English), Kharjism wasn't really a religion, but rather a portion of Ali Bin Abi Taleb's Army that left and started working like a militia, and soon they were eliminated (khwarj means in Arabic....umm..can't think of a word, well it comes from the word outside, something like outsiders, or those who became outside, meaning that they betrayed the Chaliphate.) About Sufism are not really a sect, but they did have some reasonable influnce on the goverment in the Abbasid era, but soon Harun Al-Rashid destroyed their influnce. One point about Arabic hisotry that it's really hard to simulate, for instance the Ummayeds had an empire that spanned from India to Spain, but they were very decentralized, not because they wanted to, but because before their rule is over, they were very weak, North Africa was more like a bunch of vassals than actually being part of the empire. How you gonna simulate the becoming of Abbasids, in matter of months they took over the huge empire, Are you gonna give the player the right to become the Abbasids or try to stop their influnce, or just end the scenario if they took over the player. That's somewhat a lengthy post, and there's further things I'd like to discuss, just tell me you guys still working.

It is still not dead.

You can discuss it with us on ArabiaUniversalis forum:
http://europauniversalis2.myfreeforum.org/index.php

about the kharija, I am said that it means something like "those who have left"

there is a paralel in European history in ancient Rome, where was movement called secession - radicals who left Rome

Kharijites have very strong influence on things happening at the end of Ali's rule.
Then I think they founded some state in Northern Africa, am I right?

I don't think they found a state, but yeah, they had a big influence in Ali's rule, but they were defeated, anyhow, since no one is discussing it here, I'll join the other forum, even though I tried and didn't recieve an activation link. I'm just gonna do it all over again.

for me it always works...

Just had a quick look through but what youve done so far looks good. Keep up the good work.

Any more suggestions for provinces/changes in Spain fitting the era from 632 AD onwards are highly welcome! ;)

(don't be confused by the missing shading, C-T fixed it already)
