I changed the font size of that reply, perhaps because I didn't feel such a strong contrast when reading that paragraph alone XD.
Perhaps in the future, when I write replies, the maximum font size should not exceed 15.

I am not sure about clay as a trading good.

In most cases, people trade pottery instead of clay. Could you offer me some cases for reference?

In-game, clay is produced in almost every province as a secondary RGO, along with other basic construction materials. Atleast that's what devs have said.

No, these basic materials are added to markets based on the population in the market, they aren't produced in provinces (do you mean locations?).

Goods can have different cost for trading. Stone, for example, has a very high cost, which will usually make it unprofitable to trade between markets. Clay would be a similar case.

Porcelain and lacquerware definitely fit the bill of production technologies that are unlocked at specific times for different regions, rather than generic production.
Yeah China should start with Porcelain with Korea and Japan able to research it relatively early, probably Age of Discovery, while Europe needs to hold of until Age of Absolutism.

clay is also one of the ubiquitous goods which every market always has a base production of. I don’t know if this is flat or scales of locations but regardless this makes trading clay unattractive, since it’s a low value good you can just produce more of on site.
