Can someone give me a one minute rundown of threadmarks? Got a minute, not more, not less - need to know as much as possible about threadmarks without any of the fluff. I'm a busy man, don't waste my time with threadmark fluff, just threadmark facts.

After meeting Lao Tzu, Confucius remarked that he was indescribable but for a comparison to the dragon as "they ascend into the sky riding the wind and the clouds". Asking for a "rundown" on threadmarks is to demand the impossible. That hour of threadmarks, once radiant with wonder, now stolen by conspiracies contumelious and heinous, lives now no more than the lilies of May. Dull propriety demands sacrifice; the occasional supernal flicker to filter though our mephetic mist is snuffed out with atavistic lust by our upstanding respectable denizens. If you remember your Frazer, you'll recall the glee with which they used to slay the god-king. By their very nature, any worthy comforter finds himself expelled from the temple and hanged outside the city gates.

He who binds to himself a joy/Doth the winged life destroy/But he who kisses the joy as it flies/Lives in Eternity's sun rise.

Very well put.

Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith? And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things. But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you. Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning; And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them. And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants. And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through. Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.

It's not at upset. I'm pretty sure it's french's fault we don't.

You aren't irritated as hell that they don't get it right ?
It annoys me and it's not even my state.
I think I've heard it three times just today

I hate Illinois Grammar Nazis.

They're essentially bookmarks. Mods and thread owners can set them and they can then be found through the thread index. Makes for easy navigating of threads since important posts can be found really fast, assuming they were threadmarked. In WW games it'd be obvious to threadmark updates.

So why is the rule in the latest WW lite game that players cannot use threadmarks?

Because for a few hours there was a bug which allowed every single poster to threadmark posts in threads he didn't own, edit existing ones, or delete them. Which led to quite some interesting thread in OT. This game went up during those hours and hence Canadien changed the rules to forbid what was happening in OT.
It's pronounced: Illy (like Lilly without the L at the beginning) - noise (as in, "The noise level is too high next to the airport")
The s isn't silent? I've been pronouncing it wrong then. (I say it as illy, like in lilly, noi.)

It probably used to be in the past due to its French roots, but like many anglicized words, the pronunciation has changed accordingly and become thoroughly americanized.
Oh it wasn't the French pronunciation you were writing.
Well then what you wrote probably is wrong, since an end s is always silent in French afaik. @Cliges
