This post tracks all the bugs and future feature requests for Zoning Toolkit.

If you encounter a bug, please take a screen shot if you can to show the issue. Also, please provide as much details as possible so that the bug can be fixed quickly.

If there is a feature request, feel free to add it to this thread and I will take a look at it.

Hope you guys are enjoying the Mod!

Happy Building!

Running list of Forum suggestions:
1. Control distance of zone from road. (See as "Zoning Setback" in Zoning Adjuster)
2. Have it prioritize old road zoning rather than new road (See in Zoning Adjuster), this should prevent buildings from being built on sideroads created later in the game, rather zoning on a main road.
3. Control spacing between zone to break up pattern to create natural looking spacing between buildings (See spacing feature in Zone It!)
4. Control depth of zone, how many squares it is allowed to go out per road. (See Zone It! zoning radius)
5. Zone Anarchy, so you can create zones through roads, other zones, etc. (See Zone It! anarchy)

Hi Thanks for the mod!

Unfortunately I cant get the mod working, no matter if it is building new road or updating existing road.

When building new road, I click upper right icon, I select a mode (for example "Left"), now only "Left" is turned green. I draw a new road, but both road are available for zoning, which should not be the intended outcome. The same goes for "Right" and "None" option.

When updating new roads, I select "Left" and "Zoning Tool", then click a existing road with no building attached to, both under road construction menu and out of menu. but nothing happened. The same goes for other options.

I also tried above steps in reverse (toggle on "Zoning Tool" when building new road and toggle off when updating existing road), but the result is the same -- nothing changes.

I am testing the mod in both saved file and new game file but none seem to work. Please see below screenshots.

The Mod version I am using is v5 (the one available in Paradox Mod Manager), I am not loading any other mod concurrently, I am playing in Nvidia Geforce Now and never used thunderstore mods.

I really want this mod working and help my city. Please advice, thank you!

Hi Cardinality,
As far as I am aware, NO mods are supported in Nvidia Geforce Now. That is because when you use this service, you are actually using the game installed on their servers and Nvidia doesn't allow mods (so far - I understand that efforts are taking place to change this).

You can only use mods when using your local PC game installation. Sorry.

Thanks nigelcgn, that is truly disappointing. I thought one advantage they choose to implement Paradox Mod Manager is enable user to sync and use mods across devices more easily, even in cloud gaming. Turns out it is not.

You mentioned the work of enabling mod support for GFN is being done, do you have any quotes or announcements relating this topic that I can study? Thank you!

Hi! I wanted to request a few features if they haven't been requested yet. Mainly, this is on controlling zone depth and spacing/distance of zoning to allow more granular zoning control, like only allowing certain sizes of buildings.

First, I got a couple of links to old CS1 mods to reference.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2389414419 (Zoning Adjuster)
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1783307723 (Zone It!)

Requests:
1. Control distance of zone from road. (See as "Zoning Setback" in Zoning Adjuster)
2. Have it prioritize old road zoning rather than new road (See in Zoning Adjuster), this should prevent buildings from being built on sideroads created later in the game, rather zoning on a main road.

5. Zone Anarchy, so you can create zones through roads, other zones, etc. (See Zone It! anarchy)

Thank you for the feedback everyone.

First and foremost
Please update to the latest version of the Mod. The game auto updates the Mod but I would also recommend removing and installing the Mod again from the PDX Mods inside the game. This will solve the following issues:
- Zoning option selected not affecting new roads.
- Zoning UI not showing up at all.

Again, remember to restart your game once you have installed the Mod so that the game can load the Mod.

@The_Real_Player Thank you for the suggestion. I have taken the suggestions into the original posts. I will see the feasibility of implementing the suggested features.

Thank you for the mod! It was absolutely necessary!

Comments/Requests:
- The "do not touch zoning where buildings are" rule is a litte lit strict. E.g. also the side(!) of a ploppable(!) building was spared in one case.
- Anyway it would be great to have a checkbox, if zoning with buildings should be preserved
- For zoning/dezoning one side of existing roads, klick-and-drag for specifying a direction would be great. "Right" should then be interpreted as "right in dragging direction". Or maybe you could somehow adapt the mechanics of road decoration which currently already allows selecting one side of a road.

Great mod! Thanks a lot for it.
Would be nice if you could make the UI a bit more in-line with the game's design. Other than that I didn't notice any issues with it, it worked perfect.

exceptional mod that is very needed. BUT when i open a new map, it works. When i reopen that same map later on, mod doesn't show up anymore. Is there something im missing, or is there a way to reset it or is it just a glitch ! Thank you for your hard work !

Also happens to me, not sure if related to the patch today that seems to have (as always) messed up some mods.
