Will there be a wonder/upgrade to wonder to increase number of holdings in province?
I mean, it should as a wonder would mean extra pilgrims, trade, influence and development... as well as a way to develop old starting province into a new thriving economic center.
Wasn't planned but a cool idea, I'll look into it.

I don't want to pursue the tangent too far, but I've posted several times recently about features that would boost both Christianity and classical paganisms, such as conciliar/ecumenical mechanics and improved collegiate elections. These things don't have to be in tension; having the Pontifex Maximus try to harmonise Hellenic and Kemetic paganism, and having the patriarchs try to save Chalcedonian Christianity, could be the same mechanic.

Please make another thread so we don't go too far offtopic :) Thanks!

Fun Idea: When the Aztecs invade, it's often mentioned in events that they build great pyramid temples where they sacrifice thousands to commemorate their victory over the nation they have defeated. Could be quite cool to see these temples if it's not too trivial to add.
I love this idea! Not sure its in our scope but we can see.

What about different architecture styles for cathedrals depending on the era? Like Romanesque or Gothic?

Also, what about a University City-type settlement? (Acting as cities like Oxford, Salamanca, Palencia, Bologne...)
Architecture styles could be a descriptive element of it, we won't be able to do different pictures for all different styles of them though.

It could be neat to have some non-province wonders. For example, The Matter of Britain could be sort of a floating wonder that anyone (in a certain area, perhaps) can contribute to.
All wonders will be tied to a province, as that is how we have implemented it, I think it should probably work in 99% of scenarios though.

If the underlying code allows it ( and I hope and guess yes), could you consider extending this feature to great infrastructures like canals? I.e. I'm thinking to the central Asia canals and dams destroyed by the mongol invasion and almost never restored, which significantly changed (well, totally wrecked) their economy. Restoring such ancient economic wonders could be a real achievement, like repairing ancient roman aqueducts in the former empire lands or finishing the Canal of the Pharaohs (a Suez precursor).
I see a huge roleplay potential too: for an hermetic, high learning sovereign the ultimate goal could be conquering Alexandria to rebuild the library, while an new-hellenic ruler could restore Rome's Colosseum to its ancient splendor to enjoy the sight of the Pope being mangled by lions.
Adding canals is possible, however changing the map after the game has started is pretty difficult, so not sure we would do them justice.

The Theodosian Walls of Constantinople can finally have a proper category to sit in in-game. I like this even if it's only so that doesn't have a bizarre "no proper categorization" feature. But also I like it in general, it'll be fun.

Will there be any special acknowledgement if you finish a cathedral on a catholic holy site (or other mega-church equivalent on your religion's holy site)? There should be, that should cause...something to happen.
We've been thinking about this but unsure what it will do, maybe unlock a special upgrade?

Perhaps consider doing a few wonders based on government types? For example, Merchant Republics could get access to a wonder that increases trade value, feudal lords could get one similar in theme to the Theodosian Walls which would increase fort levels, etc.

Also consider having wonders specific to religions, as well. You shouldn't have every wonder available to every character. That would be kind of boring, IMO.
No fear, wonders will be locked to certain circumstances, for example it wouldn't make sense to build a Cathedral if you are Pagan.

Here's an idea for the wonders, if the wonder is tied to a religion and you take over the piece of land its located, allows us to adapt the wonder to our religion or even flat out destroy it. Doing so could grant us a lot of prestige, piety and positive opinion from people who follow our religion while angering the people who's sacred religious wonder we just desecrated or flat out destroyed.
I mentioned earlier that converting a wonder is a feature we would like but unsure if we will have time for it.
