What happens when a multi-species empire decides to go all-synthetic? Will the different species become different kinds of synthetics with their old traits, or is everyone going to be the same? All kinds of groovy implications with both.

Enhanced, psychic and mechanical evolution, alongside ascension to the status of a true Fallen Empire, and more ways to experiance this game... sounds like a party, which is why I will put this in here, in honor of this awesome game:

what is a Tricia Helfer?
The actress who played one of the Cylon "Skinjobs" in the reimagined Battlestar Galactica series. The "skinjob" thing always made me chuckle a bit, since E.J. Olmos, who plays William Adama in BSG, also played in "Bladerunner" where the same derogatory term for replicants was used.

Oh come on, why, WHY must it be a paid expansion rather than part of the Banks update itself? What's wrong with including it IN the Banks update?

Because without paid expansions we will not be able to continue developing Stellaris.

How this paths will interact with multi-species empires is a legit question.

I would really wish to play as a empire with evolutionary focus but as one which will not change itself. Instead it will uplift pre-sentient species en masse and then weaponize them into shock troops like Old Ones from Warhammer 40K lore. This would be awesome.

Problem is, you won't be able to change anything with Ascension in future expansions. Like with Retinues.

? Superawesomeness of the concept apart they are just unlockable perks that comes with some quest and event chains associated. In future DLC they can just add more perks and events around them.

Seems promising.

I do feel like we need another endgame path for species. One that doesn't end with us drastically altering the nature of our race. I'm not a fan of the idea of going mechanical, bio engineered or the psionic path.

Maybe something such as preserve the genetic identity of our people?

Not true. We have instituted better policies since, like features being unlocked by multiple different expansions in EU4.

It is certainly possible to create cross-DLC content. In EU4 Patch 1.18, players that own both the El Dorado and Rights of Man expansions got to set ruler and heir personalities of custom nations (Dev diary in question)

Yeah. Toaster was the original derisive term for cylons, when they were still metal made. Once they started to build meat bodies they started to be called skin jobs.

In a sense a skinjob is a high end toaster. And I think we can all agree here that the numver 6 model was a deluxe one.

Hmm... it's nice and all, but I was hoping for something more ... "end-game", since the three listed path seems more like the key for the end-game.

For example,
a. To travel to another galaxy (hence, the need to biologically alter yourself to prolong your live and/or become a synthetic);
b. To find the meaning and solve the purpose of life (scientifically) (hence, the need to become a synthetic to build the most powerful supercomputer of all, or just go ala Matrix of enslaving people for their brainpower);
c. To transcend and enter a higher dimension (not just contacting these beings, but joining them as well);

I mean, there's so much potential here.
