Have you made any suppositions on the culture map? Because native Brasil is one of the few regions that I have almost no idea about except that the bigguest divisions were between the Tupian and the Gé linguistic groups-

Tá ficando muito massa! Fico surpreso que não vá exceder 600 localizações, mas acho que é de bom tamanho.View attachment 1209989
Taking about density, there are 367 locations until now. It is certain that we will not exceed 600. It's 0.2 of Proper China density, so I'm happy because it's It is an acceptable proposal and not an over-dimensioning.
No. It's to hard due to the migration that was happing during the game start data.Have you made any suppositions on the culture map? Estou curioso para ver como essa proposta vai se comparar com o mapa do BR do Tinto Maps.
The regios of the map are bad. They are named after rivers, but they don't even follow their river basins. This map recently came to my attention and I figured I should share it here since a bit of Brazil is visible and I saw mention of the Exploration Tinto Talks but not this map specifically.

For those of you more familiar with Brazil, what do you think of those Areas?
There also doesn't appear to be any Settled Countries in this part of Brazil. Assuming that there may not be major changes to this until we get the Tinto Maps for this area, I'll obviously argue for the Marajoara chiefdoms and Amazon River chiefdoms to be Settled Countries.
This makes drawing the Amazon a challenge in itself. Honestly, I don't know if I'll do it, none of my three attempts were pleasant, maybe I'll just complete the south. (It would require more effort than I'm willing to offer (and that I have the ability to do) in something that I don't even know if it will become concrete). This video by Vox. We're beginning to uncover the complexity of the Amazonian peoples but we will never know who or what they were. We just know someone built complex cities and a trade network and how humans shaped the rainforest.
Tanks. I hope too.View attachment 1203869

Here is Pernambuco, which I almost forgot to post. Don't notice Bahia being drawn further south. To tell the truth, I'm not satisfied with the regions.
I have to say, I do not agree with the lower density in the Recife-Olinda and Salvador areas. To begin with, Recife and Olinda should be two separate locations, the sister cities were at the top of the population ranking for a good chunk of the colonial period, and both were still on the top 5 for most of EU5's time frame.View attachment 1208922
Now I'm showing Bahia (now with Sergipe). Making the progression in location density took a fair bit of effort. Regarding the names, I read someone say that the developers said that they would not adopt the oldest name, but the name that lasted the longest. Could anyone confirm this? As well, I'm thinking about "breaking" the straight lines to the nearest geographic landmarks. What do you think?
I agree that the density of the SP-Rio axis should be the same in the Recife and Salvador regions, but it is not so simple to implement it, since it seems that the population was concentrated in the two locations, instead of being distributed throughout the surrounding areas. In any case, I will study the issue.I have to say, I do not agree with the lower density in the Recife-Olinda and Salvador areas. To begin with, Recife and Olinda should be two separate locations, the sister cities were at the top of the population ranking for a good chunk of the colonial period, and both were still on the top 5 for most of EU5's time frame.

At the end of the time frame, Recife and Salvador were in the top 3 with quite the wide margin to the rest, only behind to Rio de Janeiro.

To add to these points, Salvador was the Brazilian capital for most of the colonial period (up to 1763) and Recife was the capital of Dutch Brazil.
Let's not be fooled by current population density and give suggestions for an anachronistic map please, the northeast was the economic and populational center of the country for a very long period.
Now We've Paranaguá, with 36 and not 35 locations.
Thanks.First of all, awesome work!!
My two cents here from a first look of the map, wouldn't it make sense (at least for gameplay sake) to split the Paranaguá location between Paranaguá and Guaratuba? Mostly to improve the relevance of the Serra do Mar in that region -- as you'd actually be able to cut direct movement between Paranaguá and São José dos Pinhais --, as well as having the option of 2 different natural harbors -- even if Guaratuba was never really used as such, given the proximity of the much better Paranaguá bay, it still does seem to lend itself to such.
I already have a lot of content, ready to post in the Tinto Maps about South America.Have you made any suppositions on the culture map? I've already discovered the basics of Inkscape (which was more work than waiting, mainly because it makes files with 0% opacity disappear) and I'll probably have Rio Grande do Sul ready before Friday.Any updates on the map?

One of the things I wanted to discuss is that we've tried to portray the Mata Atlântica, the original forest cover that was present in Brazil before the Portuguese colonized it, and a different type of land exploitation started. In this regard, we've been reading the feedback of the Brazilian community, and I want to say that our intention here is to portray the most realistic situation for 1337. That said, we've already internally discussed that we may reduce its scope, so it doesn't look so extreme, but we'd like to hear your opinions about it.
Sorry @Pavia I hadn't seen your message. If you have any objections about the suggestions, feel free to ask, I will respond if I can. I just can't guarantee maps, as I'll be away at the end of the year.
I'm updating the list at the time. Can you post your entire Brasil proposal map in this thread?
