Back at the fleet rendezvous, the Mountain-class Tenders have finished re-stocking the Emotions back up to 100%, and are now working on the Phalanxes.

If he's planning a career in Commerce Raiding, he'll need to close in about another half a billion km.

But he might be heading straight for the jump point... straight into our ambush.

That would be awesome.

Why would he necessarily go for jp, though?
He never was interested in it before, so why would a single colony ship he's destroyed mean he wants to continue for thr jp?

The mind of the Alien is a mystery, wrapped in an enigma. Hidden behind a question-mark.

Amy irea what might have caused that?

Haven't got a clue.

Our passive Intel ship (no RADAR, but strong passive EM and Thermal sensors) was heading away from Red 2, and when they vanished I turned the Intel ship around and Red 2 re-appeared. So maybe it's a range issue with the Thermal sensors.

... but if that's the case, surely you would expect the enemy ships with lower Thermal to fade out first! Not everybody at once.

You were running one hour time intervals though. Might just be a matter of the increment length hiding that.

They've disappeared again, and this time they've been gone for hours.

I'll assume that it's the extreme distance from the planet Harmony and its array of 15 Deep Space Tracking Stations that is causing our sensors to lose track of them.

I'll deploy a couple of Passive Sensor Intel scouts.

He just tried to rush our nearly-destroyed anchorage at planet Harmony. With a Mayenne.

Considering that we have precisely FIFTY gun turrets and/or Spinal Lasers guarding the anchorage, that turned out about the way you would expect.

Found him.

He's sitting with his engines off (so very low Thermal) and only occasionally using his RADAR to sweep for targets. Which reveals him on EM.

As in the mayonnaise died?

How many survived the colony ship, btw?

Interesting.
I thought the guns of rhe maintenance station weren't too grand.

The Maintenance section is unarmed, correct.

The STO is based on the planet itself.

Gauss PD, Laser DP-PD, Heavy Laser, Spinal... fifty turrets and/or spinal mounts in total.

The way to take that planet away from us is to stand WAY back outside our range and lob missiles at it.

:D Beware the dead mayonnaise!* :p

Thanks for the laugh, Wagon. It’s been awhile since your autowrong has provided us with such amusement. :)

*This could be fodder for new sayings for this thread. ‘May dead mayonnaise forever haunt the enemy’s Mayenne.’ ‘You’re dead mayonnaise to me.’ ‘The day the mayonnaise died’ (cue song). ‘Kill the mayonnaise!’ I dunno—what do you all suggest?

And the Mayenne went really close?

Is that STO up to date or older equipment?
The day the mayonnaise died’ (cue song)
Which song would that be?

I could be wrong, but I think he is way to young to know that song. Lol
I know American Pie, albeit don't think I ever watched rhe first one. But did watch some of the later ones as a teen.

As I said. The movies have nothing to do with the topic at hand my friend. Watch the video @Flockingbird posted.
