For the past three hours, the enemy Red 2 force has been heading directly toward the Colony ship that picked up the 1,500 prisoners.

Revenge? Coincidence? Random swanning?

We'll have to wait and see.

Five hours, still on course.

This would be very good news if they really are chasing the Colony ship.

They'll catch it and kill it of course, it's too slow to get away.

... but that means that they'll likely chase our Gunships, toward the ambush site.

Seven hours on course now.

They really do seem interested in that Colony ship loaded with captured Modrons.

Excellent.

Those four enemy missile boats that had earlier been outposting the jump point between the Neutral Zone and Mechanus are now outposting the jump point between the Neutral Zone and Harmony. Note the speed of zero.

Red 3 appears to be losing interest, but Red 2 is still in pursuit.

I'm slowly falling back with the AWACS Intel ship, so as not to distract the opponent.

Twelve hours and Red 2 still following the Colony ship.

Red 3 seems to be interested in a civvy Freighter. Are they preparing to waste a bunch of missiles?

200 million km.

If Red 3 is planning a missile attack on the civvie Freighter, it will happen soon.

That's what we like to see!

... especially when the missiles are aimed at a ship that WE didn't build.

Four missiles incoming.

... we spotted them 42 million km away! This must be the 15 DSTS on Harmony, doing the spotting.

They one-shotted the Freighter with those four missiles.

Well... that was a bit disappointing. Lots more where THAT came from, though.

Red 2 continues their pursuit of the Colony ship, with our stealth AWACS ship fading back in front of them.

Now less than 800 million km apart.

Shouldn't it be 41/70 for leaker chance, qw we shot down 29 and 42 got through.

We should take miss chances as a base. Those 41 hits are actually misses from a PD perspective so .. yeah. I think it should be 41, not 29.
That makes it look considerably worse for us though. (41/70)^(60/19 / (140/70)) works out to a fraction under 43%.

That means that of a salvo of 140 about 60 could make it through the PD screen, barring of course earlier work by AMM, the impact of decoys on these numbers, and actual misses because that fleet would not be moving at 0 km/s. and may also sport some form of ECM when they are targeting military ships.

No, I'm really not sure we can tank them with PD. At least with these old vessels, even if we have 60 of them. 1200-ish potential damage is still a lot.

Freighters don't have more than 1 layer of armor so that's not very suprising. That's easily 60 points of damage to internals.

How far away are they from the Lernea<->Harmony jump point?

I think he meant "disappointing" in that they didn't launch more than 4.

About two and a third billion km away from Lernea => Harmony.

About four billion km away from Neutral Zone => Harmony.

About two billion km away from planet Harmony.

The Red 2 Task Force has just disappeared from our sensors!

Too far away from the planet to register? I would have expected the smaller and dimmer ships to fade out first...

We'll send some scouts over to investigate.
