Yes, you're right. You can always generate new 3d "character" when you need one.The main selling point (and the main problem) of PDX 3d art is that it is random. You can always generate new 3d "character" when you need one - and 2d art have to be drawn by hand.
Yes, you're right. You can always generate new 3d "character" when you need one.
But, the 3D character is so bad, that doesnt matter how new the character is from the random generate.
It will only create extremely ugly characters.
I could forgive your view of the 3D models- that’s just aesthetic preference, even if it’s not one that I share.I know I'll probably get a lot of respectfully disagrees for this but I think the 3D models for CK3 are done super well and the models in Vic3 get too much hate. Also I like the more minimalist UI of the newer games. If they brought the 3D system of Vic3 to Project Caeser and just made them a bit higher poly count or just more polished in general I would be quite happy.
Look at the fan base 10 years ago and look and what they have now. They critiqued hoi3 because it had not enough sprites or 3d animations or eu3 because it was not complex enough to have 30 dlc with that nice building cosmetic pack lolYes, you're right. How about if Paradox does a survey with the 3D characters to see if the majority likes them or not.For me and for You - yes, but apparently a lot of people like it. Also, they may be good for youtubers.
It can't be cheaper than 2d or a way basic 3d modeling portraits. The only reason has to be a new generation of fan base who will clap and drool in front of their 3d ruler and be willing to spend 20 bucks on a dlc for a fancy crown or exotic custom of the xv centuryHow about if Paradox does a survey with the 3D characters to really see if the majority likes them.
I think Paradox decided on the 3D characters for these two reasons.
1. It's cheaper. They already have the generator. And they don't need to hire an artist.
2. They can sell overpriced DLCs on the grounds that it costs more than 2D.
(Like outfits or the DLC like Crusader Kings III: Tours & Tournaments or Royal Court)
They could use the 3d generator and apply a 2d transformer no?The main selling point (and the main problem) of PDX 3d art is that it is random. You can always generate new 3d "character" when you need one - and 2d art have to be drawn by hand.
Do the reactions to this message of the TT gives us hope?My reaction on 3d graphic in Project Ceaser: "Oh, no!"
Not liking it and being disappointed yes, being sceptic of the game for this sole reason is what I find weirdi mean... if it is positive for immersion for some, on the opposite site it totally can destroy your interesst in the game if you really hate it, and it waves into your face every now and then. You eat with your eyes.

I just laught for every "No" reaction.))Do the reactions to this message of the TT gives us hope?
If you see Joahn's replies, saying "you can mod it," it means that this is their idea of the upcoming game, and if you don't like it, you can mod it. If a player has to rely exclusively on mods to have the changes that the community wants, are you really listening to the fanbase feedback as you said you would as a developer? Besides Victoria 3, his project on Imperator was trashed by the fanbase and patched by modders. Just recently, they implemented with patches what the mods had improved.Do the reactions to this message of the TT gives us hope?

I get your point, although I think it is a bit harsh on him right now taking into account that they have already shown that they are implementing quite interesting, and I would say quite important mechanic's feedback given by the majority's approval of the community. If you see Joahn's replies, saying "you can mod it," it means that this is their idea of the upcoming game, and if you don't like it, you can mod it.
