No... in the original, it keeps the name England... and it did the same in AoI, but I'm going to change it because one of my "customers" hassled me to do it... :p
 
It does I could of swore it changed. But on AoI the flag dosnt change for me either it stays as England and has the St George cross. Sorry Im dumb thanks for this though, I love AoI.

I play AoI and Not EU2 vanilla so I didnt even know :p

I dont think it creates a shortcut, take your original EU2 icon and make a copy, then right click it go to properties and in the target line where it says something like this I think..

"C:\Program Files\Strategy First\Europa Universalis II\EU2.exe"

add the line AoI at the end of it like this..

"C:\Program Files\Strategy First\Europa Universalis II\EU2.exe" AoI

now im not sure if yours will say exactly that depended on where eu2 is located on your harddrive, I think thats the default American folder but im not sure. just take whatever you have in the target line and add the AoI at the end, and I think its case sensitive so make sure you right it like that :)

This scenario has caused too much troubble already, two uninstallments and re-installments. Re-pasting files I had made. Even recreating a few I had forgot to make backups off. Re-installing the new beta. Re-installing the Mongol Empire Scenario...

I think I'll get back to this when a proper .exe file is made so that no messing up with files have to be done to play it.

I'm sorry, but if you are overwriting any files then you are installing it wrong.
 
Here's what I have done about the England/Great Britain/United Kingdom issue:

The Act of Union event will trigger from 1707 (yes, that's actually the correct year - not 1700). The event will, as in usual EU2, give England the nice and shiny Great Britain shield. The event have had it's triggers removed, for practical reasons.

The Second Act of Union event (new) will trigger from 1802. The event will turn England into United Kingdom.

I didn't want to waste a tag on a Great Britain nation as well, and UK from 1707 just didn't feel right... so I hope this will do.

Apart from that, I have been adding some new graphics using the new flag command in the latest beta patch. As an example, France now have a total of 5 shields (only 4 flags though) which will change over time with events.

are you going to try to add a lot of flag changing events to other countries as they happened in real life? Or are you worried about having a huge GFX folder?

Maybe there is a way to make it optional so if you dont want to download a huge GFX folder you can turn the flag changing events off?

Because I am willing to download a 50GB Gfx folder just for flag changing events lol

I am planning to apply all major flag changes. I don't really care if, say, Baden had a different flag for 4 years during the 16th century or something like that - but I aim to apply major changes, like the from Ducal Prussia to the Kingdom of Prussia. I won't be changing the stars in USA's flag though, so don't ask about that... :p

I don't think I will make the flags a seperate download. The latest release was only about 5mb anyway, and with the latest beta patch the silver shields have become obsolete - and I have therefore deleted them, thus making the size of the graphics a lot smaller.

EDIT: Btw, did you notice that I took a screenie in which you see my new UK nation, in my ACW thread? It was a little present for you. ;)

I'm not sure they are adding them particularly for Crusader Kings, but yeah I heard. Johan promised it in a thread in the Graphics forum, as reward for MKJ making some flags and shields.

I will, of course, make use of these new tags. If there's enough available, I'll use them for a 1337 Hundred Years War scenario - which I have been wanting for for a while. :)

EDIT: Oh, and about your screenie... why exactly didn't you keep your cores on Naples, if I may ask?

I can't remember the year, around 1480 or something. I can't remember the choices either... but I think option A is to get the cores and option B is not to.

I have a question also, what are the requirements for England to become the UK do they have to own Scotland or have them as vassals?

Also I was wondering if it would be possible for me to edit the event or copy it and make a new one so that if England has french culture and France dosnt exist in 1705 or whatever you said the year was if I could make it use Kaigons UK flag with the french fleur in it but the country would still be called UK just a different flag?

Cant wait man Im gonna start a new game as England right when you release the new version :)

I removed all requirements for England getting the 2 Act of Union events. If stupid AI wouldn't conquer Scotland (good chance for that), the old event wouldn't trigger - and that means that I would have to make all post 1707 events for England/UK duplicate for them both. 2 versions of all those events, in case England would exist and not UK... and that would be waaaaaaaay too much work for my blood...

And yes, you can do such an event for England getting french cores/culture/new flag if you like.

I can't promise when the next release will be, it will require some deal of work to adopt AoI to the latest beta. There will be a lot of tag switching, because some of the nation I made are now included (Peru, Mallorca, Leon, German, etc) and I should of course make use of the new undefined tags as well. But maybe I will just do that for 1.02, and release 1.01 as soon as I have the installer ready...
