So, sod all these "hints", let us take a little journey on the internet and see what we can find? A little researching...

So Paradox are going to Gamescon 2015, let's go to the website: http://www.gamescom-cologne.com/gam...9802&values={"stichwort":"Paradox","start":0}

Paradox are represented at the booth of: Turtle Entertainment GmbH

Let us go to the website of Turtle and see what we can find: http://www.turtle-entertainment.com/we-deliver-amazing-gaming-experiences/

Hmm, I did say yesterday, that it would not be a strategy game. But that Paradox would take a new direction, in addition to continuing to do strategy games.

So, now, what kind of game are Paradox going to deliver to us very soon?

A sports game?

Since it's not EU: Rome 2, I reckon it'll be Victoria: Rome instead. POPs, religion, city-creation/colonisation - it all fits, and I can look forward to creating a string of Stevehelevenopolis' throughout Asia and North Africa! Senators, I demand a Triumph! :D

Or... maybe not. ;)

P.S. I love the "Who is this Fredrik II guy anyway?" question! :p
Lol I'm sorry >.< Never heard of him before

The hint was there would be no pig stabbing.

Yeah - I did realise that. What I was trying to say was why would pig stabbing even be mentioned if it were a game set in the era of interplanetary travel? Surely they'd be more likely to say something like 'There will be no exiting the craft during transport' as that actually would be relevant to the era. Sorry - it's my fault for not being clear.

Oh, okay. I just thought you misunderstood. It makes sense as I am reading over it now again and you defiantly do not have to apologise. :)

Maybe they don't want you to know anything about the game yet, early hints rarely reveal much about the actual game. They could as well mention communism and make a game about Ancient Egypt.

Ah yes, it's an old time baseball game, back when they still considered having 7 innings, 7 players, three outs. Yep Victoria 3: Baseball edition.

Three hints revealed, seven weekdays to go before gamescom. So we have:
New major IP, three and seven are important, and something about not stabbing pigs.

-Three and seven are important in so many places and times in history, you could call a Rome game (Triumvirate on seven hills), a China game (three and seven kingdoms), you could even try and stretch the hint to support a Byzantine (Second Rome) game (seven hills of Istanbul/Constantinople, protected by cliffs on three sides)... Religion? You could call forth Revelations and the Trinity (also leading back to Rome). Fantasy? Three and seven are "magical" in so many epic stories, this hint would fit nearly everywhere.

-No stabbing of pigs alludes to EU Rome, and is the closest hint both for AND against a Rome era game. In game to increase stab, you go to the religion tab and pay to stab a pig... you would think that means no Rome, yes? ...Except hint #5 from EU4, before it was revealed, said "don't worry about being a badboy"... and the game turned out to be EU4! ("Reputation" modifier from EU3 was removed in EU4. It was known as "badboy", and was replaced mainly with aggressive expansion.)

They are doing great on these hints so far! I can totally make these hints fit my preconception, and I could still be wrong. (Notice I see Rome everywhere? Maybe that hints to a game era I am starting to miss, and that I'm interested in playing... ;) . See I can play the obscure hint game too!)

edit - Heck I'd like an ancient game, a future game, a space game, Vic3: The Remake, fantasy, sports, or whatever other guesses come up. It doesn't even need to be grand strategy as long as it's grand fun.

It can't be Cold War. It was in development at the same time as East vs West. There wouldn't be two Cold War games at once.
Well, East vs West was not under development by Paradox. Paradox would just be the publisher.

Also, Supreme Ruler: Cold War and East vs West's development likely overlapped, as SR: Cold War was released around this time in 2011, and East vs West was likely a good bit into development by then, considering EvW was cancelled a very long way in. (You can even play it now if you want)

Also, considering both those games were massive flops (SR: Cold War hardly simulated a Cold War, it was more of a world conquest simulator and it hardly sold, and East vs West ended up looking more like a HoI mod with a different map than a standalone game) it is very possible that Paradox would have their development overlap East vs West. Especially if they knew from early on it may not end well.

Eh... It was already said by Paradox, that East vs West was by Paradox and BL Logic together. Here:

We were doing it together with BL-Logic.

And Supreme Ruler: Cold War is very different from East vs West and any other Paradox game. Supreme Ruler was not a Grand Streategy game. Actually it's very unlikely that they would do/publish two Cold War Grand Strategy games at the same time.

And if Paradox would have known that it may not end well... they would never invest money into East vs West.

Well, I think I have it sorted out:

-this will be something new, so not a remake of EU: Rome, which some people still count on.
-the numbers 3 and 7 are particularly important to this projest - and those numbers carry a certain philosophical and, even more, theological importance. They are especially prominent in Abrahamic religions and amogh them, in Judaism in particular. Read the writings of Jewish mystics, read the Kaballah and you would have them all over the place.
-"no stabbing of pigs" is a worldview kind of statement. We have two major groups refraining from doing so, based on divine revelation (see above - 3 and 7): the Muslims and the Jews - a coincidence? I think not.

We can be almost certain this new game would not be about antiquity, middle ages or modern era up to both world wars - we had covered by the earlier series. So, what's left? Cold War? Early 21st century? That would be boring, in fact, unless we receive something about the New World Order (which would be quite fitting, actually).
What else, then? The future! And, considering the hints, there is the answer. This is what the game is going to be about:

Well, I hope nobody thinks I'm serious here :D

Clearly a complete new Rome time period grand strategy game starting on Augustus Emperor timeframe (founder of the Roman Empire) to, probably, fall of Rome or even CK2 starting timeperiod (756).
Great News!!!!!!

God I would love to see a Romance of the Three Kingdoms type game. Anyone here old enough to remember the KOEI classic?
