It's similar to HoIIV monarchy Portugal and Vicky 3 imo. (Less shiny if that makes sense). I like it
So Dahomey's color is too shiny?

I am a fan of blue Portugal. I don't really want to open the can of worms of fiddling around with major power colours in a 10 year old game, but if I did then I would probably just swap Portugal and Tlemcen.

Jokes aside, It's a fair point, prussia got special treatment! and if modders can change countries colors without breaking ironman it's good enough. I shall await with hope for blue Portugal in eu5 tho.

Imo it's fine. It's the same colour (only off by a few numbers) as the blue used in the Portuguese coat of arms at that time (if I remember correctly the blue changed to a darker one in the 17 century when Braganzas took over). So showcase all the different blues I made this ;).
Of course in game they will look a bit different. But I hope it helps tell the diference of the blues.

My personal opinion is that Portugal should have the colour of the early coat of arms (in essense the dahomey one), still, all the other options are still better than green!

I feel like that's a bit of a stretch :p tlemcen color really stands out. It's gray+blue.

As the reigning Devclash champion with Portugal/Brazil, I give my vote to Blue Portugal. This way, when they are eventually replaced by their much cooler green overlords in games, it will be much easier to notice on the map.

(PS: Some people may reply here saying that as they have XYZ amount of Devclash trophies, their votes are worth more. Not true, since I currently own the champion belt )

I'm feeling that Portugal 2.

And just for those wondering about the deeper red history on Portugal, as there was some minor World Cup 'Controversy' here. (when isn't there lol).

The first heraldic symbol that can be associated with what would become the Portuguese nation was on the shield used by Henry of Burgundy, Count of Portugal.

Could you please show how it looks with Dahomey's tint?
You could just go in game and annex portugal as dahomey and you would get the results :p anyhow here they are. Portugal using the exact same color as Dahomey.

For good measure, here bellow using Portugal early blue (basically a tint of dahomey color).

If you can't tell the difference, Portugal is just a little bit darker using this tint.

Thank you.

I would prefer Dahomey/Portugal 1 tint - not too dark like "de Braganza" version and still easily distinguishable from France, should both countries colonize close to each other.

Or maybe some "middle-ground" tint between 1 & 2 would do?
