Portugal should be azure green/blue for the simple reason Portugal owns the Azores.
I agree with Johan, if Portugal's color changes, Prussia should be Prussian blue. Additianally I prefer the HOI colors for both Italy and Germany, medium dark green and medium grey respectively and the CK3 light grey/dirty white tone for the united HRE.

Looks Good, The HOI / Portugal 1? looks great on modern map
I feel a bit of shamed for noticing it earlier but the hoi map color is actually just the blue from the monarchist flag.

Makes sense in foresight.
Thank you.

I would prefer Dahomey/Portugal 1 tint - not too dark like "de Braganza" version and still easily distinguishable from France, should both countries colonize close to each other.

Or maybe some "middle-ground" tint between 1 & 2 would do?
I do also think the dahomey/Portugal 1 tint is better, while putting the darker blue on second place. A middle ground could work, vicky 3 and hoi4/monarchist are pretty close to one (but not entirely). I made a middle ground color too (simply adjusting numbers).

its the color at the button. At this point I should probably just test them all in game shouldn't I? :p

Maybe they could add a feature that lets you change all the country colors as you want. And even save your own "default" settings.
Checksum! Aka ironman compatible. I have been wishing for that for a while, someone earleir in this thread said they did it for nest update. I looked it up and I could only find this comment.

It ain't exactly saying "you can change colors without altering checksum" but rather "in this new effect we implemented for modders, you can change/restore colors in game". It could imply its changing colors without altering checksum for sure, one can hope. (or maybe I'm interpreting this the wrong way)

The azores? Why should the island reflect so much on all of Portugal? I mean, azores flag is also blue and white!
Btw check last dev diary. Prussia color did changed to prussian blue (Portugal didn't).

I would be in open rebellion buut I did also want prussian blue for prussia. So it's not a total loss for me. It's still a win.

I just want to say that I came to like @Sete's Blue Portugal after seeing it in Victoria III. So I would like to see it in EU series.

There's no need for that. I think it's obvious enough, thanks again.

I've just looked up the etymology of the Azores, apperantly it comes from the northern goshawk (Açor-nortenho) and not from a tone of blue. Don't mind me, I'm dumb. Anyway, thumbs up for blue Portugal.

In the meantime, let's discuss this:
Aveiro should also be a salt province.

Also, the province of Évora is the least developed province in Portugal, despite the fact it was literally the most urbanized, cities like Evora, Elvas and Estremoz were as big as Porto.

The province of Beja on the other hand, is the most developed province in Southern Portugal, expecially in manpower, when in reality it was the least populated area in the country by a big margin.

I would switch the development of Beja with Évora for a more proper representantion of early modern Portugal.

So, Salt in Algarve is legit, right? I just can't find any sources in English that would confirm it. All i've found are some excerpts from travel blogs about the area and a several words in the English version in the wikipedia page about Faro - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faro,_Portugal.

Also I would like we've had this discussion in the related thread for 2 reasons:
1. The more attention that thread will get - the more chances are that devs will get it into consideration when they update Iberia.
2. I dont wish to lead people away from worshipping at the a holy altar of the Blue Portugal :D

Long time lurker of this thread here. Just like to say that I've agreed with @Sete and @Oporto on this issue for some time. Let's demand Blue Portugal before the end of the game and Blue Prussia as well. It's about time we get historically accurate colors.

On the Salt, there are several areas that produced Salt. Some still do. From aveiro to the mouth of Guadiana.
But maybe Alcacer do Sal might have been the most famous one.

By the time we are through with putting Salt here and there, Lisboa will be the only remaining province producing Fish.

I mean he has a point.
I think 1, max 2 salt provinces is enough

And also, everyone should calm their horses because it's almost certain that even if they do eventually change it to blue, it's almost certain it's not going be on tomorrow's DD, so you are only hyping for dissapointment.

Best case scenario would be a hotfix a couple of weeks later.

Don't make a scene about it if they don't.
