I have made some changes, and put up a new download.
1.01b includes:
9 new US events
Fixed the 'offset = 0' problem
Fixed info lines for several leaders, mostly US and British.
Added /Scenarios/save games folder.

New file is here

If I were to send you my work, would that make it version 1.02b?

I think it would be best to make something more comprehensive, putting in VPs, province information etc, and other things that got left out in 1.00b.

Just loaded 1.01b. I got tons of errors regarding US events; could these be the new ones? Still got lots of mismatch errors and A-H still has no ministers or leaders.

Sure... if you don't mind sending it. If you'd rather wait, that's fine.

If we do a comprehensive change, though, we can label it 1.10b.

Shell: What were the errors? Did it specify which events were causing them?

Steele

Probably not.

I haven't been able to test it, yet. This is just a fix for some of the more obvious problems.

For a really playable version of this game, you will probably have to wait at least a week or so, possibly longer.

I just played a pretty good game (considering AI is limited), I did the offset fixes, and German tech fixes, and in game, I switched between France, Russia, Germany and England, and 'cheated' to get at least 5000 of each resource.

After that, the gameplay went smoothly, or somewhat smoothly. The VP is the biggest thing that needs fixing, Russia managed to take Berlin in an assault in 1915, and the war ended. A-H split up into A, H, Czh, and A-H (Meant to be yugoslavia, but stayed as A-H).

Germany managed to rebuild their army, and (not in the Alliance) declared war on the Entente, held off Russia (who survived a civil war, and was about prewar strength) captured Paris (another 1 cav attack) and then went off and whipped Russia.

Pompey, in charge of one whole division, was rebeatedly beaten, so I'm a bit angry. =(

Thanks for the feedback - what was Serbia doing at the time of Austria-Hungary's defeat?

Here is an example of an error during a scenario load:
(Unrecognizable which or value)'which=[transport0]' Line=431 file=TGW\db\events\usa.txt

I get about a dozen of these, with varying line #'s.
The May 1915 freeze is gone. :)
Still get instant defeat, unstoppable Germany, and DoW Sanusia.
Infra needs to be added to Libia for Sanusia war.
Are we going to have the new cavalry, artillery, and air tech icons?

Random events, such as worker's strike, are missing text.

 I am having some MAJOR CTD problems as Germany. I am getting CTDs from Day 1. They almost always happen when I am clicking on a new menu.

Hopefully we get a patch soon!

You can CTD if you try to build new aircraft, but don't have any techs.
You also can't load games if you are already in one, and can't save unless you make a save file (or dw 1.01b). You also crash from the scores page when you surrender.

I was having trouble saving the game, then I found a very interesting detail. I had created a directory called "savegames", and the game was freaking with the process. Having renamed it to "save games", the save/load process went smoothly.

Gwalcmai: Try downloading version 1.01b. It fixes a couple bugs, and includes that folder.

Is anyone else getting these errors? I got them only after 1.01b. Perhaps these are the added US events?

Quite likely. But it's also likely that it'll destroy the fixes I've made so far... :) (DB mismatch, leaders and ministers, uber Germany, etc)

Did you include the techtypes bars? I posted links to them in some thread.

Shell: Yeah, you mentioned that one already. I'm looking into it. It has to do with the added transports in the Liberty Ships and the British Merchantmen events.

For some reason they aren't spawning right.

In the mean time, you can try commenting out those events with #'s. One # before each line of coding.

Steele

Gwalcmai: I would have, but I didn't see them until after I put up a new patch.

I think I'm going to stop re-hosting slightly different versions of an 11mb file, so I will wait at least a day or two before I put up a new patch, but those will definitly be in it then.

What else have you fixed? Perhaps I can easily incorporate it...

DB mismatch

Those mismatches occurred on events that I scripted, and I've managed to correct them as well. I'll look after all the events until the next release - that way, we won't have two people 'fixing' problems and then inadvertantly creating a new one.

By the way, has anyone noticed how it says that the events are 'written by Johan Elisson and Stephen Tempest' in the events.txt file? A bit harsh on the rest of us event coders. ;)
