Well, it would be bad for Italian morale in both cases: in 1936 it would mean losing to " African rabble" once again and Mussolini and Italy being laughed at in the entire world while in 1941 it would mean the end of the Italian colonial Empire.

Ok below there is a description for the event (RSI surrender) but I need help with the event script

Trigger conditions : RSI exists
RSI allied with GER
RSI at war vs Italy
RSI don't control Torino, Genoa, Milano
Venezia.

command : return of this provinces to Italy (plus Bolzano)

Description

In english
On 5th of April the Allies launched a renewed assault agaist the gothic line, in the northern Apennines and managed to break it so that on 23rd April the 8th Army began to cross the River Po at Mantua. German resistance now began to collapse and Parma and Verona were taken while partisan uprisings began in Milan and Genoa.
With Allied troops approaching, Benito Mussolini and his mistress, Clara Petacci, attempted to escape to Switzerland They were captured at Lake Como by Italian partisans on 27th April, 1945. The following day they were shot and their bodies displayed in public in Milan. German resistance came to an end on 29th April and General Karl , who had unofficially been negotiating with the Allies for some time, signed a treaty of unconditional surrender at Caserta on 29th May. Two days later General Heinrich Vietinghoff commander of all German troops in Italy, agreed to the terms signed by Wolff at Caserta.
That was the end of the R.S.I and of the fascist government in northern Italy.

In italian.

Well, if the allies controlled these provinces allready, how could RSI still exist???

Well, but what if the Germans are still around in provinces near these ones; I think it should be so after the defeat of the Axis (Liberation events)...

well, it could be after some allied country annex RSI, because remember that AS SOON AS some allied country takes all the VP cities, they can annex the RSI, so you can end with Italy and a puppet RSI of USA that has NO SENSE, so we need an event that appears there and secede RSI to Italy ;)
also if the USA annex RSI, all those provinces must be inmediatelly seceded to Italy :D
adding an event that checks as soon as RSI don't control those provinces prevents the player from annexing RSI ;)

those are included in the original HoI files?
if not, can you prepare what personalities does they need to have?

Mmm they're not in the original HoI files

I'll try to prepare the personalities (the only one I'm pretty sure is the tag Great Compromiser for De Gasperi .. it's designed for him)

The cabinet is ideologically centrist (it's a government with ministers from both communist and democratic ideology(mainly democratic)) I suggest italian ideology after 1943 is set at about 2/3 towards democratic. (it can be changed after with the event elections of 1946)

I'll do a research and then post the personalities (hope to make them accurate)

See Ya soon

Hi again,
below I post the event for the abdication of King Vittorio Emanuele III. Hope that someone will translate it in Hoi event script!! (I'm not good at it) :)

conditions: Italy exist
date = 9th may 1946

commands: new king= Umberto II

Description:

On 9th of May 1946 King Vittorio Emanuele III of Savoy abdicated in favour of his son Umberto II. The new King will reing for only 35 days. Umberto was a king whose image was not compromised to much with the fascist regime and the italian military disaster in WWII, even if his run away from the undefend Rome, in the days following 8th September 1943 was considered by many italians as an act of treason.

Now I'll work for the referendum/election of 2 june 1946, I was thinking to make 2 separate subsequent events (first referendum and then election) with the election triggered by the referendum. I just have to search for ther shadow government :)

What I meant was that AFTER Axis was defeated this would automatically go to Italy, wich would make the liberation events less of a mess (Italian occupied Austria adds even more possibilities than usual...). The same would apply for Luxembourg/ Norway or Denmark; the ONLY option for democracies would be to liberate them...

Mmm I find a problem..
I think the ideology of Vittorio Emanuele is fascist, am I wrong?

IF the government of 1945 (after the liberation) is democratic there can be an HOS fascist and HOG and minister democratic?

If not it must be changed within the event to make V.E. III's ideology democratic (I'm just hearing a lot of laughs here in Italy in calling Vittorio Emanuele III democratic :)

See Ya

we can create a new Vittorio Emanuele that it is democratic :D

In my last game I ran into some problems with the surrender of Italy events. I was testing some events of mine for the Spanish Civil War with CORE 0.1, and decided to finish the game because of the unusual course of the war.

The Allies did not defend Poland in '39, so after the M-R pact the Axis invaded Greece and then USSR. A few months later France declared war on the Axis and invaded Italy, by late 1941 all of mainland Italy and North Africa was held by France, with Sicily and Corsica held by me playing Republican Spain. Italy's only remaining VP provinces were in Albania and Greece.

At this point the surrender events triggered, the north of Italy which had been occupied by France was given to Germany, but RSI was not created. Allied forces in northern Italy were sent back to the force pool and the ones in Hungary and Yugoslavia were cut off from supply.

It seems strange to have all of Italy occupied by the Allies only to have part of it given to Germany in the middle of the war. Maybe in addition to checking for lost provinces in south Italy and Africa, the event could check that north Italy is controlled by ITA or GER before giving that territory to Germany/RSI?

Wasn't the interim government in Italy fascist before the vote? I thought it was one of Mussolini's cabinet that took power.
