Impressive Ghost... im very impressed. Do you get swamped with events or are they well spaced?

well the way i wrote it should turn out like this.

first 2 weeks of the war.

a few of the scandinavian aid events and the kick Soviets from League of nations

1st month

Protests from around the world.

1st 2 months after Soviet expulsion

aid starts comming from around the world.

a lot of the events are dependent on other events in the series to have fired + random factor 15-20 so after 2-3 months it should get further between the events firing.

I appreciate all input an im more then willing to tweek them if something comes up. I really worked hard at writing so probably more play testing is needed yet.

Hi Steel and Generalisimo

I need some help regarding my finnish event chains, and since your the only ones who have the files your stuck with the job :D

I ran a few test games before sending them to you but I never had the situation that i had last night.

in summer 39 poland caved in and gave danzig to germany.
germany and USSR got a Limited MR agreement so no russian claims on Finland.

september 39 i get the pop up that canada has sent reinforcements to Finland and that finland recieved them.

As far as i can see all the events regarding this:

finland allows foreigners in army
UK revises policy on foreign war participants
Canada assembles volunteers and ask for permission
UK gives permission
Canada sends volunters

They all have the trigger 2621 (Finland says let them take it if they dare) and War { USSR and Finland}

winter war hasnt fired so they should not be able to fire.

could you check it out.

also later despite no full MR agreement USSR pressed for the areas. mainila shots were fired and then event 3200 should fire.
( hold or fold to demands) but it doesnt seem to happen.

could you take a look at this as well.

Thanx in advance

Iceland independence

Hi guys

I would like to discuss the creation of independent iceland. Following the occupation of denmark

here is my suggestion:

1) Denmark gets occupied

2) Britain takes control of Iceland

3) Iceland declares independence
In this part both iceland provinces are ceded to Iceland

4) Iceland Invites america to land troops and secure Iceland from German invasion.

5) The Non-capital province(cant remember name) is transfered to US control and US is granted access to iceland.

That way we can keep Iceland as a between base for US planes and still get Iceland back into the picture.

What do you guys think?

IIRC Iceland declared it's independence on the 16th of April well before the British marines invaded Iceland on 10th of May. In other words I think your sequence of events is not right.

Were you planning on having Iceland as a puppet state under the UK and then later the US? There never really was any Icelandic army so I suppose it will be a 0 MP solution where essentially any Axis nation can take Iceland at will (since US/UK will not garrison non-owned territory). I guess it's probably no change from right now, I don't think we added Iceland garrison priorities (it was really a Royal Navy job to prevent any incursion).

All things considered I'd suggest sticking with the existing event chain and not creating as Iceland as an independent nation until after the 1944 plebiscite. Iceland wasn't a formally independent republic until then and having it as UK and later US territory avoids all issues with garrison AI, expeditionary forces etc.

will US AI use Iceland to send their planes??? the AI doesn't use very well the military access... :(
And, what is the gain of that? how they will survive?? there will be no garrison in Iceland unless we create troops for them, so we will need to give them huge ammounts of resources to maintain theirself... :rolleyes:

[Bug?] No pressure on Denmark if Norway is allied

It looks like the triggers of event 1002002 in altmark.txt are a little bit of. Denmark will not consider folding to Germany if _Norway_ is allied with someone (The "allience=" triggers). It would make much more sense if the event would test if _Denmark_ is allied with someone.

Code:
event = {
	id = 1002002
	random = no
	country = DEN

	# Weserubung - Denmark

	name = "Germany threatens with invasion (DEN)"

	trigger = {
		random = 20
		event = 172049
		exists = DEN
                war = { country = ENG country = GER }
		NOT = {
			alliance = { country = NOR country = GER }
			alliance = { country = NOR country = ENG }
			alliance = { country = NOR country = SOV }
		}
	}

[Bug] Bohr events sleeps wrong event

The event in Ghost_events.txt which has Bohr escape to the US sleeps the wrong event (172011 instead of 172111)

Code:
event = {
	id = 172111
	random = no
	country = GER
...
	name = "Niels Bohr 'co-operates' with Germany."

}

event = {
	id = 322038
	country = USA
...
	name = "Niels Bohr escapes to the USA"
...
	action_a = {
...
		command = { type = sleepevent which = 172011 }

Yeah, there was a couple of problems in that event chain. It's been changed for v0.6 release. Thanks for the feedback.

I have a few other ideas for Finnish events.

If Finland in game accepts Soviet demands and Winter War doesn't happen, or Winter War ends with Finland giving in, there is couple of things that could be better.

Firstly, Finland didn't cede Petsamo in after Winter War, only the tip of the "arm" known as Kalastajasaarento, so Petsamo should remain finnish.

Second: Finland rented Hanko to soviets for 30 years as part of the treaty. On HoI scale Hanko might be quite irrelevant, but when finnish and swedish troops re-took it from soviets 4.12.1940, they found quite a lot of material there, including some 100 artillery pieces.

Event for Hanko shouldn't probably happen if soviets are doing well in the war, as the capture ofthe town was a result of soviet evacuation. Also, Soviet Union probably wouldn't even have wanted Hanko if they hadn't controlled Estonia by that moment, as they wanted to have gun coverage on all ship traffic on Gulf of Finland. They'd need both sides of the gulf covered, or it wouldn't have mattered anyway..

Also, is there already an event that gives Finland a way out of the Continuation War? If Germany isn't faring well, there should be occasional events letting leader of Finland decide whether or not negotiate for separate peace with Soviet Union. Soviet player naturally could decline.. But if soviets accept, it would result in a war between Finland and Germany, which happened historically anyway.

That's it for the moment :)

Dunno if this has been mentioned/fixed before, but Finland should have at least the basic submachinegun technology...
