I am planning to start a megacampaign, so can I start playing now and convert when the converter comes out or will I have to wait until the converter is out and then start?

Unless the converter gets done in a few weeks, your save may likely be outdated if you start now.

Doubtful they'll change the game with hotfixes so much the saves wont transfer. It's not like they'll be putting in the mana system they ripped from Imperator.
I'd be confident the saves will be fine.

Note to everyone interested:

We would appreciate your save games for testing purposes. Yes, we're testing. Yes we need inputs. The more the merrier. Preferably without mods and certainly without total conversion mods which are useless to us.

wait, how have some people done mega campaigns with ck3 without this being released yet?

Zemurin is one of the Converter's developers. The screenshots posted are a sample of what the converter is currently able to generate.
 
Does the save need to be played to a particular date, or could I just send you the one I have at 1154?

A completed game where I formed the Empire of Brittania. I re-named it to Scotslaw (I RP'd the unification of the Kingdoms of Scotland and the Danelaw)--will custom names for titles be ported over?

So some day I'd like the possibility to have games with my Sunset Invasion mod converted to EU4, including changes to the Americas setup - just like vanilla CK2 does when the Sunset Invasion DLC is active (though somewhat tweaked as my lore is quite different).

It is not going to happen in the immediate future (still need to learn C++), but I have been considering how that could work, repository-wise. Could I merge some code into your main repository, that detects my mod and changes the output accordingly (and otherwise does nothing); or would I have to make my own branch of the repo, and direct people to use that one instead of the main one?
