Greetings all!
After more than three months and two adjournments, our new version of DAIM for Doomsday is ready now.

It can be found here: Download link

So what's different to the former version?
  • Production and research of all DAIM countries revised and tweaked
  • China: Strategy against Japan tweaked, special settings when puppet of Japan (for all warlord factions)
  • Great Britain and Commonwealth: various settings revised, better manpower usage, D-Day possible!
  • Soviet Union: strategy against Germany revised, buildup changed significantly
  • USA: more active in the Pacific, D-Day possible!, defense settings when under pressure
  • Japan: much more active in the Pacific, industrial buildup, reworked defense settings
  • Germany: should invade Norway now, special strategy for low manpower
  • AIs for the German flavour puppets Scandinavia and Flanders
  • Italy: little tweaks and changes
  • Reminder event for the player when domestic slider movement possible
  • "Mers-El-Kebir" Event for Great Britain to include Vichy France in the war
  • Usage of some more new Doomsday commands
  • Uninstall and Backup functionality now 100% compatible with DD 1.2
  • other little tweaks and fixes...

Our special thanks go to eRadicate who gave lots of valuable feedback as a Beta tester! :)

WOOHOO!!!!!!!!! DL now! :) :) :)

Thanks for your hard work on this!

+1 !

First impression: it seems that NatChi has a better defense versus JAP.
Beaches are more defended and many troops in Nanjing - Shangai area are blocking JAP at beginning of '38.

Minor issue already there in previous version: Manchukuo build too many CAV, CAV when upgraded needs oil and MAN does not have oil thefefore has problem to fully supply CAV units.

Great job indeed!

Just trying out, it seems very good so far.

Alright ! Almost exactly on pace with me finishing my current Italy GC. I'll get busy working on this to combine with CCIP and will make a follow-up thread for it. Glad to see it is completed !

Manchuko should trading Oil with Japan . In my USA game it also is trading Oil against supplies

No, he is right, some minors are included within the packages for the majors, e.g. Manchukuo for Japan.

Sorry, didnt know that

Very cool. I just installed and am about to start a new GC. One comment: the 'backup' checkbox (aka 'backup your existing config' setting) isn't explained to the user until the readme pops up (i.e. after it's too late for the user to understand why he'd want it) - I would suggest, in your next version, either defaulting the backup checkbox to true, or popping the readme before installing.

Looking forward to playing!

Hmm, I guess we might improve that a bit, yes, but it's not a big deal: It's an additional backup of the original 1.2 files, a backup for uninstall purposes is included in the uninstall.exe anyway.

The additional backup is meant for people who want to play it very safe or who want to have a look in the original files while DAIM is installed. This is explained in the stickied F.A.Q. thread as well, so the answer isn't that far away. ;)

I did not see that... Manchukuo had always an effective IC below its maximum in my games.

And that's the same for puppeted china, effective IC is under potential IC because of lack of resources.
The chinese resources problem is also in vanilla DD.

I see the point. There is no guarantee that the trades are working and 50 % CAAV is to much. Will be changing this for the next release

What am I doing in my current game to counter Manchuko's desire to have an all cavalry army is to keep giving them trades for resources to keep their IC at max plus extra supplies. It's nothing I wouldn't normally do for other puppets , I just have to do a lot more of it :) Currently Manchuko has 13 cavalry, 9 of them have AC brigades (which is good but further increases the oil usage), 1 with artillery, and 3 non brigaded. For infantry it has 6 plus the starting 5 militia. I can see these cavalry being useful to me as long as I keep Manchuko well fed with oil and supplies.
What might be unusual is that it is brigading only the cavalry so far.

Am I correct that I can go in and adjust the army ratios for builds myself to lower the cavalry builds ? Also, what about brigade attachments since I know the AI builds the brigades pre-attached to the army.

New feedback about Italian AI:
- it seems AI never protects Sardinia,
- it seems AI never attacks Malta (even if it's unprotected !), same for Cyprus
- but on other fronts, Italy was quite good especially for invading Oman and Yemen.

Yes and yes. Note that the given brigade priorities are applied unspecific to all kinds of land units though: It is pure luck which unit ends up with which brigade exactly.
