Version 2 of my map (I somehow missed the Aral Sea and I assigned a province from Yunnan to the UK)

Nobody cares about the Aral! :p

Good job Folgore, seriously.

Hi, if you look at the E3 map thread in the AOD forum you can see that I also tried to give credit to all those who have been helping over the past years. Very helpful was Vladimir IIs post (#4 of E3 Mod & E3 Map thread) but it hasn't been updated for more than 2,5 years. I would bet that are many more forum members who have been helping in the meantime. Does anyone have a list of them or a more recent list which I could use?

I designed the province layout of the USA, the Pacific and Indonesia. I'm not sure about other contributions though...

You're now mentioned. ;)

Any more ideas?

The game files which have been adapted to AOD are mostly usable for Arma, too. But there are some notable differences between HOI2 Arma and AOD. Especially the naval units which consist now of a mix of attachments should pose a problem for the usage of the scenario files. Another problem will arise once we start to introduce more revolters. Atm only the EU is new to revolt.txt.

I wouldn't mind if anyone takes the time to re-engineer my adapted scenario files or to copy the part concerning the province installations over to the old E3-HOI2 scenario files.

Mumia is active elsewhere ;)
You are welcomed to work by yourself on the mod.

What do you mean "active elsewhere"? Do you know something we don't know? He hasn't been here for a while. I hope he didn't abandon this...

Has anyone tried to translate the province names in his own language? While making the E3 map only the english entries of this file have been corrected. In all of the other languages the ids of changed provinces have kept their previous name.

Jounk35 has already corrected the german province names of the E3 map but the other major languages (e.g. french, italian, spanish, russian) have atm partially false province names entries. The most recent version of provincenames.csv can be found if you follow my sig and download the map. Another goodie is the port of Hamburg and the now functional Kiel Canal. ;)

I volunteer for the correction of misspelled italian entries.

I suppose I can help with the Spanish ones. What files do you need to be fixed?

Thanks, Viden, actually only the province_names.csv has to be checked and corrected. We are atm re-doing the areas and regions of province.csv which might need later a thorough reading, too. province_names.csv is included in the first download.

If you want to play (vanilla) AOD with the E3 map you'll have to download these files:

The E3 map v0.5 (including my own navaldist.tbl)
E3 map v0.5a.rar

The AOD 1936 scenario files adapted to the E3 map -- Updated 15.08.2010!!
E3 map-AOD scenario files-E3v0.5e.rar

The AOD event files adapted to the E3 map -- Updated 15.08.2010!!
E3-map-AOD event files-E3v0.5c.rar

Thanks to the adapted events you can play a vanilla AOD game with the E3 map. Revolters should be fine, too. Since the ai files are on our to-do list you'll see sometimes odd ai behaviour. Also be prepared to encounter some 100% infra provinces in the middle of nowhere; they will be fixed later. IC and resources aren't perfect, too. We haven't checked the terrain of all provinces but will do this. Checking and fixing the province.csv file is an on-going process which will take its time. But we'll keep you informed and will upload from time to time the most recent version.

Then you'll find here a link to the most recent map-fix

If you could help with the italian entries that would be cool. ;)

Since there are some problems involved if you try to edit and save these .csv files with Excel easy copy&paste as usual is sadly not an option. That means that you can edit the file only one after the other. Whether you or Viden starts first is your and his choice. Whoever starts as first should after finishing upload the file here or in the AOD-E3 thread, so that the other can start.

I can start first. Just to be sure, tell me which file do I download and which lines have to be checked. :)

You can find my downloads just two post above. The province_names.csv file is included in the first download. You'll encounter several lines which have yet the original entry, but you can always use the english name, if no appropriate italian name of this province is available. The english name of that province should be - hopefully - always correct.

Ok, I'll do it later in the evening and then upload the updated file.

His contribution to the mod is on standby for now, not abandoned.
He is working on a project like AoD if you know what i mean.

Now have you made me curious. Is this new project linked in any way to P'dox? IIRC there have been up to 1000 interested parties when P'dox offered to license the europa engine. And only FTG and AOD saw the light of day...

Hi Viden,

Titan79 kick-started with his italian translation and uploaded the fixed file. You can download his province_names.csv by using his link below. See also his remark re copy&paste which should make your task slightly easier. :)

Ok Fürstbischof, you can add "italian" in the province names line. :)
Link to updated file

Phew! When I volunteered for the checking out I didn't realize there where so many lines ;) .

Some remarks:

Copy&paste indeed worked for me. I could copy the english column on the italian one and then work from that (made things more simple since the former italian column was somewhat confusing). (...)

Ok, I just downloaded the file and started with it. But I don't have clear what should I do (My English sucks :( ): Only to put the right name to the provinces (Burgos > León) or translate the name (Reykjavík > Reikiavik) too?

I can do both I you want.
