Ok, I just downloaded the file and started with it. But I don't have clear what should I do (My English sucks :( ): Only to put the right name to the provinces (Burgos > León) or translate the name (Reykjavík > Reikiavik) too?

I can do both I you want.
Remember that the E3 map has a lot of new provinces and that only 2 columns (well, 3 actually ;) ) have been corrected.

That is, ENG-ITA-GER will look differently than the remaining ones (like spanish). So, my advice would be: copy the english column over the spanish one to avoid being misleaded and start working on your new spanish column :) . You have to translate any name that can be translated in spanish, for example: London -> Londres.

Good luck! :D

I can't, since I don't have Excel and the OpenOffice version kills the file, I must use Notepad++, which had no columns, only ";".

In that case I'd stop and wait for further instructions from the boss (that is, Fürstbischof). :p ;)

It will we a long and hard work, but I will do my best for the cause! :D

Now have you made me curious. Is this new project linked in any way to P'dox? IIRC there have been up to 1000 interested parties when P'dox offered to license the europa engine. And only FTG and AOD saw the light of day...
Yes ;)
With a much more advanced E3 map.

It took me some two hours to do it, but working with Excel is completely different than with Notepad, I guess (much easier to read since you have columns).

It is. Don't expect me going that fast. I'm a meticulous and lazy person :)oo). I'm checking any single name in order to translate it.

Another question: Should I use the native name (Example: Corcaigh) or translate it towards a more knewn (At least in Spain) version (Example: Cork).

1.Seems to be an horrendous task without Excel (not that with it it was simple, eh ;) ).

2.Don't know. I followed this rule: to translate only cities which have a parallel in italian, and let the rest as it is. For example: Paris->Parigi, Barcelona->Barcellona, Dresden->Dresda -but- Manchester->Manchester, Valencia->Valencia, Kassel->Kassel etc.

Are you telling me that you don't have any parallel for Dublin!? Bah, italians...

I love them! :D

Did I miss it? Odd. In any case, of course - it's Dublino.

Edit: ...and remember that I'm not fully italian ;)

Fixed!

PS: I don't know nothing about your ascestry. :p
PPS: I don't know if put Münster or Muñiste, because Muñiste doesn't exist nowadays but I don't know if in the 30's it existed and I can't find the proper info about this.

Good, thanks!

It'd be enough to take a look at my profile ;)

 Is that city the same? Then use the spanish name - if not, leave the german one. Luckily in italian there's no translation, so Münster stays Münster :p

Important edit: I think you could have messed things up a bit. Since it seemed a bit strange to me to have missed a line ( ;) ) I checked for "Dublin" in the .csv file. I discovered that there's no Dublin in the english column (the only one we have to use as a reference, since it is the "official" one) and that it has been replaced by "Baile Átha Cliath". So maybe you've mixed some of the lines together, I don't know.

It is, but Muñiste is forgotten nowadays. I don't know if it was still used in the 30's...

Baile Átha Cliath is Dublin, in Irish.

Sorry, then. I thought I was supposed to translate from english to italian, not from gaelic to italian... ;)

I'm translating everything. :p

that is a difficult city name. do you speak irish? if yes, what does it exactly mean? (milltown or town at the see?)

No, unfortunately I have no idea of Irish, but Wikipedia does:

Spanish Wikipedia said:
Dublín (en irlandés Baile Átha Cliath, AFI: [bˠalʲə aːha klʲiəh], o población del vado de cañizo[1] )

But probably you won't understand this, so:

English Wikipedia said:
Dublin (pronounced /ˈdʌblɨn/; locally [ˈdʊblən] or [ˈdʊbələn]) is the largest city (primate city) and the capital of Ireland.[2][3] It is officially known in Irish as Baile Átha Cliath [bˠalʲə aːha klʲiəh] or Áth Cliath [aːh cliə(ɸ)]. The English name comes from the Irish Dubh Linn meaning "black pool".

But the meaning isn't the same in both Wikipedias. "Población del vado cañizo" means something like "Hurdle ford town" (At least, Google says it's "hurdle", but I dislike it).

I'm translating everything. :p
:D

In that case, feel free to correct other cities I may have missed if they where written in non-earthling languages (like Baile Átha Cliath) ;) .

Viden,

I have encountered the same problem with OpenOffice. Once you do some changes it'll corrupt the save.
Most interestingly Titan79 hasn't encountered this problem. A good solution might be if Titan79 simply copies all english names over the french/spanish/polish names. Then you'd only have to check the correct spelling. Otherwise it'll cost many more hours than necessary.

Since OpenOffice does corrupt the file I've a request for you: would you be so kind to overwrite the french/spanish/polish names with the correct english names and upload the file again? :)

This would allow Viden to use Notepad++ and change only those names which need to be changed.

the boss :p

I'd follow Titan79s advice and only exchange the names which are spelled differently in Spanish. I'd expect that for most major and also some minor provinces a spanish name exists. I.e. translate all those names which you would wish that they'd have been translated. :)
