Ulugh V : Part 2
And so Ulugh, at the tender age of four years, found himself the youngest person ever to be at war with two thirds of Europe. It was quite an honour. But frankly, the khan didn't really care. It wasn't that he didn't care about war (
that would be a matter of great concern) but just the fact that this war wasn't really all that fun. It was a scale far beyond the little Khan's brain capacity.
War at a scale that Ulugh could manage and found fun
The Horde had been taken by surprise by the declaration. However orders were sent out swiftly and given the large reserves of disposable income and men the war was soon underway.
Standing armies get ready to march on Austria whilst new reserves are recruited.
Austria clearly had not thought through the war entirely (
This came as a surprise to few). Their troops were in disarray and failed even to march in the right direction as the majority headed the opposite direction to either Poland or the Horde. Directed by the Horde Council, the armies of the Golden Horde were quite the opposite of the Austrians, chiefly due to the facts that they not only won their battles but also marched towards the enemy.
After eight months the war is going extremely well. Stripes indicate lands controlled by the Holy Golden Alliance and arrows are the routes of it's armies.
The Pope tries to take back his lands but will be punished
Only in Ennedica was some sizable resistance met, from none other than the Quebecois.
The strongest resistance of the war so far
Resistance is light enough that even the 15th century re-enactment division is put into service
Following the capture of the Austrian capital and the Empire's religious leaders plans were begun by the Horde Council for Austria to be treated as Sweden had been with vassalisation and conversion. Unfortunately a large Spanish force arrived before they could be put into action and removed Horde presence from the province. Austria would have to pay in other ways.
Spanish arrive and disrupt plans for conversion.
