Does this suggest that the province ID actually uses 11 bits in EU?
I don't know, does it?

The max ID is 1615, which fits into 11 bits. Most of my code dealing with IDs allows 16bit IDs, so up to 65535, but in a few places it is stored as a 12 bit number.

Anyway, even if the number of provinces should continue to grow ( :D ), we'll be safe until it exceeds 4095...

Johan,
regarding those ids: does that mean that the special ids 1614 and 1615 are 2019 and 2020 now? Or are they just the same?

I didn't think it could be that easily done... thanks a bunch!!! :) :cool:

It was only impossible to do for modders (a.la. no time limit patch), for compilermaster it would seems as easier. (Still not easy though, if you look at the unable-to-save-game bug that seems to have appeared instead).

Yes, it crashes, sadly, on saves. Here's the end of my savefile:

Savegame said:
province = { id = 1611 whiteman = yes }

province = { id = 1612 whiteman = yes construction = {
id = { type = 4712 id = 4820 }
action = 15
province = 1612
flags = 16
startdate = { year = 1773 month = january day = 13 }
enddate = { year = 1774 month = january day = 13 }
success = no
x = 9819
y = 2072
tag = HEL
} }

province = { id = 1613 winter = yes }

province = { id = 1614 winter = yes }

It appears there is trouble at the end of the ID's.

It likely goes looking for weather and other effects in provinces that do not exist yet, or something suchlike - I have solid faith that it will be fixed by sunday at the latest :)
