Hey! Thanks for all your work everyone. I saw there was a push to the repo and decided to give the convert another try. I suspect I am still experiencing the TFE crash on game start. Just in case, if it's helpful I'll provide my save and log.txt.
Hi, your log.txt doesn't contain any converter run and seems to be from an old version, but thanks for the save. I'll use it for testing once I identify the cause of the crash.

Hm, it does give me the, 'You are a running a previous version' when I go to upload the converter I suppose it isn't saving or overwriting the existing. Could very well be a PEBKAC problem on my end xD

I'll do a fresh install and see what happens

Update. I have a new log.txt from a clean install
Thanks but it still doesn't contain any converter run, only the stuff that's logged when you open the frontend. The log.txt file is cleared the next time you open the converter frontend, so maybe that's why.
But I already got a log.txt that was uploaded by someone else, so currently I can work with that.

You say you had the same issue with the pure vanilla CK3, could you upload a log.txt from such conversion as well (with no CK3 mods selected)? Also, have you tried verifying the CK3 game files through Steam?

BTW, the log.txt you uploaded is cut off (starts at 47%), is it how the file actually looked like or was it cut to fit into the forum's upload file size limit? If so, could you uploaded the earlier part as well?
Sorry for the late reply. I converted with pure vanilla ck3 and it worked this time (thankfully). but I still cannot get it to convert even into only fallen eagle. The game will start but when I click play or choose character it crashes while loading in

This time i zipped the file so hopefully it doesnt cut off.

Thanks. I'm still trying to fix the TFE crash, but keep getting the same exception.

Update on TFE crashes
I've tried debugging the TFE crashes but other than a bit cleaner error.log and ck3-tiger output, I feel like I have no real progress.
I've released a new converter version with the edits I made for TFE so far, but I'm still getting crashes, and so will everyone else I guess.
I'm gonna wait for the upcoming TFE hotfix and see if it fixes the crashes.

If anyone here has experience with debugging CK3 crashes, or is willing to give it a try, let me know if you want to help.

I'm having a hard time finding an answer to the following questions: is the Rise of Islam enabled? Is the converter still compatible with Fallen Eagle?

When I try converting with Fallen Eagle, my game crashes when I try to load in a character, so I figure it's not compatible or I'm doing it wrong. Either way, I'm hoping to have Islam show up, but I'm hesitant to continue my game from 420 AD for 190 years if Mohammed's not going to show up to move the mountain.

Rise of Islam is added by The Fallen Eagle mod. As for the mod compatibility, see the post above yours.

I know the converter and TFE are current having compatibility issues, however my MP mega campaign is approaching the end of I:R, and I was curious. What end date for I:R and conversion to CK:3 date is recommended by people here? I was thinking of using 361 AD, but I have seen some suggest you do so after 475 AD.

I guess the primary factor is, when do the Huns/Atilla the Hun spawn in TFE converted I:R saves? Because presumably you would want to convert as late as possible from I:R, but just early enough to not break the spawning of Atilla the Hun.

Can't personally recommend any specific date because anything after 100 AD should be fine for the converter.
However, I'm not sure the Huns will emerge like they did historically; IIRC never tested TFE for that. Has it worked for you in previous TFE versions?

If they don't spawn on their own, you can probably still achieve something similar through console commands.

The converter version 12.5.0 brings Rajas of Asia compatibility.

Thanks to @tanner918, the converter now supports converting Terra-Indomita saves to the CK3 Rajas of Asia mod. This includes:
  • Province mappings
  • Culture mappings
  • Religion mappings
  • Country mappings
  • Government mappings
  • Support for RoA's implementation of Community Culture Utility
  • Elamite religion shared with us by the Bronze Age Reborn team
  • Various tweaks to prevent anachronisms like Muslim and Christian characters being generated at game start
Other noteworthy changes in this release:
  • Support for WtWSMS and TFE implementations of Community Culture Utility
  • Updated province mappings for Asia Expansion Project version 0.8.2
  • Mapping from Simple I:R Timeline Extender's Eastern Roman Empire to e_byzantium
  • Gelonian, Qin, Cretan and Neo-Minoan cultures by @Voldarius
  • Renamed heritage_syriac to "Chaldean"
  • Rename "Ancient Egyptian" culture to "Kemetic" and "Egyptian" to "Misri"
  • Fix for unlocalized character name on the bookmark screen
  • Fix for the Faroe Islands remaining Catholic after the conversion
  • Fix for most of the converter's religions not having a pilgrimage doctrine
  • Mapping from the greek_pantheon religion from the Antiquitas mod to CK3 Hellenic faith
Download link in the first post.

Ah, sorry, I was mistaken. Last time I used the Historic Invasions mod to add the huns. It spawns him in 434. I am curious though, do you know if TFE conversions include the rise of islam mechanics? Or if it would be better to use console commands or file editing to add the huns for the TFE mechanics, or use the Historic Invasions mod?

TFE concersions do include the rise of Islam, but do note that TFE conversions are causing game crashes at the moment. So you'll have to wait for a TFE hotfix or a converter update that fixes it.
Haven't tried Historic Invasions, so can't tell. Maybe someone else here has used it.

I have converted my Mega Campaign from I:R to CK3. I haven't tried latest version of the The Fallen Eagle yet so I don't know if the Huns appear via events, but in I:R the Huns appear as massive and powerful barbarian hordes. I converted to CK3 in 453AD, but after playing I feel that an earlier date would be better as Christianity spread too quickly and aggressively, and destroyed too many pagan faiths. My next game would likely be converted between 361AD to early 400s AD.

361AD was my plan but I may play out up to 400 ish depending upon when/if the TFE compatibility is fixed. I would actually offer to try and help with that, if I had the experience. All my experience is with Victoria 2 and some with Imperator Rome mod-caused crashing. Don't have any with CK3 and wouldn't know where to start.

I managed to convert a game from Imperator to CK3 TFE. I posted this on the TFE discord but I'll leave a brief summary here anyway:

I made a copy of TFE mod in my mod folder. I took my converted game and copied it over my copy of TFE. This way I had a full mod that I could use the Tiger validator to check for errors (before I learned I didn't need to do this). I discovered there were two lines of code that were causing fatal errors. Both were related to a dynasty that had characters who were their own fathers. After fixing this, I ran the version of the mod I had copied and it worked. However, if I make the correction to an unmodified version of the TFE and enable a fresh converted save it still crashes. However the bookmark will load to about 80% instead of 30% so there is progress.

In short, I got this to work by combining the output of the converted save and the base TFE mod AND by correcting the typo in the dynasty.
Combining the mods is probably unnecessary, I am going to attempt some more testing to see.

A link to the conversion is in the workshop, it might show up as new folder in the mod list because I'm super lazy: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3417230042

I am attaching the save I converted here.

For anyone who sees this post, you do not need to copy the mods together. Fix the dynasty issue and then copy TFE's cultures folder (common/culture/cultures) into the outputted mod. Make sure you overwrite it.
