Hmm, got the converter to work via copying the Cultures folder from TFE into the created mod folder. However, I seem to be still in the Iron age era of culture innovations. Is that intended? If not, how would I fix that?
I fixed this manually by copying the innovations from TFE. For any culture not in the TFE and for a lot of the Latin and Hellenistic cultures you have to fix them manually. You should also check the tech you have unlocked in Imperator, if you haven't researched enough you will have less innovations. I think you can check this relationship in the configurations in the converter.Hmm, got the converter to work via copying the Cultures folder from TFE into the created mod folder. Thank you! So, do I need to manually add innovations for every culture, or just latin/hellenistic/non-TFE cultures after copying over?I fixed this manually by copying the innovations from TFE. Another TFE save file and log which fails for your debugging pleasure. TFE works fine separately. Waiting for the TFE update anyway but hopefully this helps.
Converter version: 10.15.6
Imperator version: 2.0.4
Imperator mods: Invictus, Timeline Extension, TE: Crisis of the third century, TE: Crisis of the third century BetterBlobs Submod, Fix Scorched Earth, Virtual Limes, Always show Christian / Gregorian Date
CK3 version: 1.12.5
CK3 mods: TFE
Works with WTWSMS instead though
Came back to this thread to see if there was any progress. Normal conversion was still failing but after copying the cultures folder as instructed it now loads!I managed to convert a game from Imperator to CK3 TFE. I posted this on the TFE discord but I'll leave a brief summary here anyway:
I made a copy of TFE mod in my mod folder. I took my converted game and copied it over my copy of TFE. This way I had a full mod that I could use the Tiger validator to check for errors (before I learned I didn't need to do this). I discovered there were two lines of code that were causing fatal errors. Both were related to a dynasty that had characters who were their own fathers. After fixing this, I ran the version of the mod I had copied and it worked. However, if I make the correction to an unmodified version of the TFE and enable a fresh converted save it still crashes. However the bookmark will load to about 80% instead of 30% so there is progress.
In short, I got this to work by combining the output of the converted save and the base TFE mod AND by correcting the typo in the dynasty.
Combining the mods is probably unnecessary, I am going to attempt some more testing to see.
A link to the conversion is in the workshop, it might show up as new folder in the mod list because I'm super lazy: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3417230042
I am attaching the save I converted here.
For anyone who sees this post, you do not need to copy the mods together. Fix the dynasty issue and then copy TFE's cultures folder (common/culture/cultures) into the outputted mod. Make sure you overwrite it.

There is an error in the TFE where a dynasty has someone that is their own father and that causes crashes, my earlier post has more detail.I tried copying TFE's cultures folder into the corresponding folder in the converted mod, but still no luck, CTD at startup. How would I "fix the dynasty issue" though? I wouldn't even know what to look for.
Currently they are not converted, but I think it's a good idea, so saved for later. You can watch the progress on the issue here: https://github.com/ParadoxGameConverters/ImperatorToCK3/issues/2489can anyone tell me if it is correct that title names are not updated from imperator ? (playin in Fance, free of Roman influence, and having French Renaissances county name is breaking my immersion)
Known issue with TFE conversions. If you upload your save, I can test against it when a fix is made.Hi I need some help troubleshooting my save's conversion to CK3. I used Timeline extension and crisis of the third century (without Invictus). Whenever I start up CK3 and I load into the save, the game instantly crashes. I've attached the error logs from ck3 and the converter. I would really appreciate some input and help on how to fix this. Really appreciate it!
P.S. I am using The Fallen Eagle mod for CK3.
I'm gonna need your save.I converted my Roman Empire, and while the top title, .i.e. the Emperor, is administrative, all the vassals are feudal. I want the subjects to be feudal, but I'd like the provinces to be administrative. I did get an error saying the converter didn't recognise a bunch of offices, including proconsul. I am using the Reanimata mod in IR which makes changes to how assigning governors work, and I just want to confirm that the Roman Empire with imperial goverement is SUPPOSED to get administrative vassals rather than feudal so I can let the mod-creator know, I don't want to give him bad info on his mod breaking the converter if this is how it's supposed to work.
You need to edit the title_map.txt configurable. As for which tags to use in a link, I think you'll need to either check whatHello, may I ask which configurable needs to be changed in order to make an Imperator Empire into an actual ck3 tag, rather than a custom tag? Specifically I want an Atropatid-formed Persia to be *actual* Persia in ck3 (for the dejure borders and title history), and the same for a Ptolemaic Egypt and actual Egypt in ck3. I'm using Fallen Eagle as well, though I'm unsure if that matters at all. I've fiddled around in the "title map" file but to no avail, which rather confuses me considering Burma *does* get converted as the proper ck3 title, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

No and I don't see how it could work, given that an empire's de jure territory depends on its de jure kingdom vassals. Is there any way for empire titles to be statically converted while keeping kingdom titles as dynamic?
Here you go, I thought I'd used the correct tag (it says "MAP" when I go debug in game, at least for Persia) but I assume you'll correct some silly mistake I've madeYou need to edit the title_map.txt configurable. Alright if I can't use default empire titles, how do I control how the empire titles get generated? Is there a way to tell the converter to restrict or create de jure empire titles to specific cultures? I have been getting a de jure Iranian empire that stretches into most of Russia because of the Sarmatians along with a rump Caucasian Empire the size of a duchy and I was hoping to make something more reasonable.Currently they are not converted, but I think it's a good idea, so saved for later. I looked at and converted the save. MAP is the tag, but the historical tag is PER, so you should use that. However, the mapping for PER -> e_persia already exists, so you just need to remove the SEL -> e_persia mapping, which is used first. Here you go, I thought I'd used the correct tag (it says "MAP" when I go debug in game, at least for Persia) but I assume you'll correct some silly mistake I've made![]()
Thanks, saved the 3 problems in an issue, to be looked at after Fallen Eagle crashes are resolved: https://github.com/ParadoxGameConverters/ImperatorToCK3/issues/2491Here you go. Had lots of warnings and one error, regarding unrecognised offices, which I suspect is why the provincial governors default to feudal. Two cultures were unrecognised, but they weren't on the map so it didn't matter in the end, but the mod-creator for reanimata figured he could amend that.
The one big issue, aside from the provinces being feudal rather than administrative, which I fixed manually by editing the produced mod, were that roman women didn't have names. Reanimata has a dynamic system for naming roman women, so a girl born to the Julii will be called Julia, and if she gets a little sister she will be renamed Julia Prima or Julia Maior, while little sister will be called Julia Secunda, and the third sister will be Julia Tertia, etc.
I had a chat with the mod creator and he was a bit confused why those names weren't being exported though. I had a look in the CK3 game with the debug tool and they all seem to have the key "Prima_TEXT" or "Tertia_TEXT", or similar. When a roman girl is born in Reanimata the name-selection box is left empty, and the mod then dynamically gives them the appropriate name for their place amongst their siblings. The creator was looking to make his mod converter-friendly, but he couldn't figure out where the displayed name in CK3 was pulled from or why it didn't simply used their displayed name from IR, so any idea why their names aren't exported would be helpful.
The only related configurable is heritage_empires_map.txt, which determines predefined titles to be used for some heritages. For anything else, IMO it's easiest to just modify the generated mod's de jure setup.Alright if I can't use default empire titles, how do I control how the empire titles get generated? The Ptolemaic Kingdom is already converted to k_egypt.
I've attached the edited configurable.
The issue isnt the latter 2 mods but is TFE, it is broke in conversion rn.Hey everyone, I've been keeping an eye on the releases and attempting to convert my save as things have progressed. I have not had much luck. I have been using the:
- Invictus
- Timeline Extension
- Crisis of the Third Century
When converting to CK3 I have been attempting to use:
- TFE
- Nameplates (not necessary)
- Community Flavor Pack (not necessary)
I've disabled the latter 2 mods in effort to help narrow down any possible issues or conflicts. Lua is not my forte though.
When I have attempted to convert the save to CK3, the converter produces an output. I'm able to load up the mod. However as soon as I select my nation/character and attempt to play, while loading the game crashes. I hope I have provided the correct files. Thanks everyone for everything you do!
