Polotsk is a brave pick CSK - its the weakest of russian principalities and I actually dont think we need so much people right there - if we have Kiev/Novgorod, Pereyaslavl and Poland, Polotsk seems to overcrowd the place.
It would be best if you decided upon seeing how much of the people have gathered in first session and whether Lurken is still with Germany or not - which you will see then.

This one I really doubt - just by knowing that Polotsk can get 3k troops max by first crusade, while Poland 20k+, and then Kiev and Novgorod both have claims on Polotsk - almost as suicidal as Alania I'd say.
I probably wont be taking Nubia - just checked and it's a bit too weak to make sense - 1k troops dont really equal to being competitive.

Sadly, Nubia is pretty much doomed. I suppose we could always try to boost it somehow to make it playable though. An Egyptian player would really spice up the game.

But I generally think the yelling about the strength of Italy, and the total need of another player there is too extrem. Germany could always field more men than Italy could. But instead of saying, two players are needed there all mean you need Apulia. Spain and France would also be stronger than Italy, which is united rather an average Kingdom.
Yes, I know, the lands are very rich, especially Venice is really high, but I generally don't breed, which takes them the power. Italy would probably have never been such a monster as in the march through time because of that.

CSK, regarding your problem in Italy, and mine in Rus.
Firstly you've got it solved if Apulia is there as that halves your potential power.
Secondly, I think we should make some ruling against whining. If you dont like your neighbour - make an alliance and go kick his butt, not whine for generations just how evil he is - it takes A LOT of fun away from the game.
