Some things I noticed while playing Finland:

"Vartiosto" should, imo, be "Kaartilaiset". Y'know how the word guards has two meanings and stuff like that?

"Kevyt jalkaväki" could be "Jääkäri" because the germanic countries have "Jager" as light infantry and the Finnish word jääkäri comes from the word jager. Unless I am really missing something here.

Let me rephrase that: I agree with Gwalchmai regarding mountain troops. :D

Guards would be Granatieri (literally Grenadiers): to quote the official Italian Army website http://www.esercito.difesa.it:
"La specialità dei Granatieri [is] discende dall'antico Reggimento delle Guardie creato nel 1659 dal Duca Carlo Emanuele II "

Attack Division should be Arditi. (The Italian version of Stosstruppen).

Bersaglieri are definitely light infantry - they were issued with large quantities of bicycles! Again to quote the website, "è istituito il 18 giugno 1836 il Corpo dei Bersaglieri con il compito di svolgere servizio di esplorazione e missioni di carattere ardito." ("scouting duties and missions of a daring character").

Marines is Lagunari. Cavalry is Cavalleria. (Same source).

Uhm strange never heard about Regiment of Guards. But since it is written in our italian army site, I think they know their history :D.
Bersaglieri are not exactly light infantry.
The Bersaglieri corps were troops built to be troops in movement, that's why the run is their symbol. When the war in 19s century was static, the Bersaglieri were made to be a mobile infantry that can move faster than other static infantry so they are armed as much as other corps.
But we are talking about 20s century and the art of war is changed, they are now fully functional infantry armed as normal infantry.
I don't know exactly, but if you want I can do some little research.
 
I´ve already PM:ed Allemby in this matter, but I´ll post it here as well (there has to be some order :) )

the swedish attackdivision should be stormtrupper.

For single division use 'division' for plural us 'divisionen'

Its kinda hard to translate these. There are different terms for similar units and vice versa.

Infantry = Infanterie
Cavalry = Kavallerie
Guards Infantry = Kaiserliche Garde or Gardetruppen
Attack Division = Sturmtruppen
Light Infantry = Jäger
Marine Infantry = Marineinfanterie
Mountain Infantry = Gebirgsjäger
Militia/Levies = Landwehr
Reservists = Reserve
Trench Division = Festungstruppen or Wachtruppen

AFAIK at least currently "Jääkäri" means heavy (assault rather) infantry.
 
Yes, but it is Jager for the Germanic countries. Isn't light infantry supposed to be infantry that is less supported by artilery and other dandy, heavy toys?
 
OK, I'm back and will update the file. Speaking of which - where is it? I can't find it in 1.04b. Allenby?

Cavalry - Kavaleria (Konnica is something of the Middle Ages :) )
Attack Division - Udarnaya diviziya
Ligh Infantry - Legkaya pehota (i see it as transcription and not transliteration) - but i would prefer to call it as Egerya or Egerskaya diviziya - that is Jagerdivision.
Mountain Infantry - Gornye strelki
Trench Division - Plastunskaya diviziya
