and thx to everybody who support the recreation of hungary! ;)

I honestly don't care (though I would have to say if you go with the dukedom, I'd grant Ear a few kingdoms because my empire most definitely won't crumble), it's pretty much up to Ear I think. I guess I'll vote for Trav's solution.

Oh, by the way, I cannot make it to the session tomorrow (today technically) so a sub would be really great, especially considering the situation...

Im able to play the first hour. Maybe ill come back later! (last hour?)

Something happened? Am i annexed again?

Hungary is intact again. But really, people, if you're not going to show for weeks on end, I do think it's not entirely unreasonable to consider you AI, and therefore fair game. If you intend to play, play. Otherwise, be prepared to get swallowed.

On another matter, I propose that when we get to EU2, we start at 0600 PST, sharp. If you don't show at that time, too bad; we will pick you up one hour into the session, but no earlier. We've really become quite sloppy on this, and the constant rehosts are getting on my nerves.

I agree with you KoM on all your points.

But look from my PoW. If I play Iberia will totally implode with very close to conversion. Not fun for, since it was an AI who did that to me. And it might not be so fun for the rest of you, since you will loose a competative power. Once more, if I wrecked my country I would have stayed. But since the AI did it, I would dislike to see me penalized for a bad AI.

Uh... what happened? Sorry I couldn't make it, but I was at a big trial thingy all day yesterday.

Nothing in particular happened to Poland, although its King is now severely wounded from some minor brushfire war or other. Iberia, on the other hand, imploded anyway - what with its excommed, kinslayer King. Burgundy is at war with France - well, Burgundy has always been at war with France - and is somehow managing to lose. I find that an impressive feat.

Ouch... we need to convert soon.

Expected that Iberia would implode, but it still has better loyalty-modifiers then if I would handle Iberia.

I think the conversion should wait until about three years after Poland's king dies. That gives RP's guy time to die of his wounds, and me time to grab up some of those suddenly dis-loyal vassals. :D

Weekly Game Update

We played at Below Normal for most of the game with 4 players. We played from January 1, 1408 to November 1, 1416. Newest game MAP is up. For some reason Zupload is still not working for me. I may have to find another host for the game saves.

The players this session:
  • Traveler - King of Italy
  • KoM - King of Norway
  • Dom - King of England
  • Blackeye - Emperor of Byzantium
  • Ear - King of Hungary Left early after making peace

We had 3 game stops. I’ll list the causes for each stop:
  • Ear made peace and left.
  • KoM CTD, not sure why.
  • Everyone CTD, not sure why.
  • KoM and Blackeye CTD, not sure why, called it a day here.

We went back to the Jan 1 autosave where Ear made peace then left. A war with Castille was waged by Italy and Byzantium to free those realms she held in the Middle East. Norway also joined the fray against Castille, seeing an opportunity to claim counties she held in the North. England and AI Burgundy continue to chew on the helpless French. AI Poland attacked AI Jerusalem.

We probably have one session left. I do hope we can settle any warfare in this last session before we convert. Speaking of peace the warring parties have agreed to a settlement with the beleaguered Castillians that we feel will be equitable (see map below). Castille's bad-boy was edited to less than 0. Also, Italy will release all of Tunisia if Burgundy agrees to release North Africa. This will definitely add flavor to our EUII game and may encourage players to join.

Once this last session is played we will take a week break before kicking off EUII. This will allow us to convert, check out our realms, plan strategy and recruit new players.

Thanks for the editing away of my BB, now I can play again without having the whole Iberia blowing up in my face.

btw that red country in Egypt, is it Egypt? And just for the record, the Iberian king will take back what has been Iberian for many years. Alexandria.

Just one more thing. I appreciate that you edited away my BB, however it still feels as I have been penalized for having a stupid AI that ruined my country. I lost my strategic islands, I lost the whole Alexandria area. I lost Morocco, that Is also Iberian by right. Iberia will not rest until those lands has been restored. While Hungery thrives. Italy thrives and of course the smiling Norweigians, who feast on the dying body of Iberia.

Iberia will have its revenge! Iberia would have been pacifistic and inwards looking, but now you have ensured that Iberia will wage war to restore her empire!

Just one more thing. cheech was right, the GM has some failures. He did not see, or did not want to see that a rival country, Iberia, had been played extremely bad by AI when I was away, and even after I complained about it the GM did not take action, while KoM said basicly "Come and play or we will dismember your realm", and my answer was, that if I play my country will be even more dismembered. I even got the support of Dominus.

Therefore I am tempted to leave this game. With the same reasons cheech had, a GM that could not do what GM should have done. GM could atleast have started a discussion, in the same manner after AI Poland annexed AI Hungery. Hungery got fixed, while the rival Iberia got shafted. This is not fair in any way.

Now, now. I own up to feasting on your corpse, but I'm certainly not smiling as I do so. Smirking, perhaps. But really, I'm not after any territory except for those counties that used to belong to the Duchy of Coimbra; and I do feel Poland has a more legitimate grievance there than Spain does. I'm prepared to make peace any time.

For the rest, well, it's all a question of priorities. If other things are more important to you than CK, then the AI is going to be running your country occasionally, and that has bad effects. That's life. I've been lucky with my AI sessions; Dom, you, and now Ear have been unlucky.

As for being away : If you had shown up in 1400, you could certainly have had your country back together again by 1419; it doesn't take that long. Deliberately staying out to let the AI keep things together is really quite gamey, especially when other players have plans for your country. Honestly, I feel you are not being punished for bad AI - what happened to Dom was punishment for bad AI, and he took it like a man. No, you are being punished for not showing. And I think that's entirely reasonable.

Now, there may be an argument that we are not being quite consistent in our treatment of you and Ear. You'll note, though, that Trav actually did the same to Hungary as to you; he was then voted down. Personally, I was in favour of just going on, and letting Sterk's Poland collapse from badboy; Ear could easily have recovered his territories then. Since that was never going to happen, I voted for the next best option. I also think that Trav is kind of jumping the gun here. I think he should not release your kingdoms by editing; instead he should go the ingame route of claiming those titles, getting them from you in peace, and then releasing. Now, it's true that he probably couldn't get all three kingdoms released that way; tough for him, he should have started this war in 1350. On the other hand, this way you lose your badboy. It's a compromise.

If we are taking a vote on this, mine is to not edit anything, force an ingame peace on Lurken, and then extend the CK period to 1430 to give him time to recover. (He'll lose some badboy anyway with the loss of his kingdoms.) Optionally we could remove some, but not all, of his badboy, since the situation is a little special with the conversion nearing.

Good written.

But seeing as this timeslot is really bad for me nowadays. I hereby pull out of the campaign.

Sorry to hear that. :(

Bin, perhaps you'd care to play Spain with Trav's edits? Pretty major power in EU2.

hrrmmm.. Like I said... We will have four or five reliable players throughout this experience, whereas the rest will be shifting in and out over time. Get used to it please guys. Sorry to hear you are leaving, but it does not come as a suprise. We really need to push through toward EU2 where there are more people willing and available, a fact that will put us less at the mercy of part timers.

Oh and an addendum. Don't miss time in your MP games, its just not a good idea. I haven't missed more than an hour in months. And we should all know just how much damage the AI racked up in that hour. Well, enjoy, and I'll see the rest of you Saturday.

Gentlemen, the time of conversion is upon us. Trav has suggested that we meet up next Saturday to iron out any outstanding issues with MyMap; I agree, but would like the time moved back a bit, as I'm not generally at my sharpest at 0600 in the morning.

Apart from that, you should all strive to post your converted blocks by Wednesday, or Monday for preference. Without those blocks, we won't have any 'oustanding issues with the MyMap conversion', because we won't have a MyMap conversion at all. Even with them, considerable work remains for me to do. I'm not delegating that part because it's rather mechanical and therefore quite easily done by a script, which I can quickly write; but I do need those province conversions to start that part. So please, no more procrastination - post them blocks now. People who have said they'll do blocks, and fail to post them by Wednesday, will be assigned navaho for their state culture, or maybe aztec if I feel generous.
