which essentially will not happen in Westeros unless you're playing a king yourself. Bloody Targs are always trying to go from limited to autonomous in my games, I guess they don't like the ability to revoke traitors' lands?

Hm yeah, how is it that the king always lowers crown authority? Bad relations maybe?

Nice! Well, as nice as virtual slavery can be of course. Still, evil practice as it is, I will not spurn the money I get from it when I play as our new Ghiscari overlords. With the fall of the Dragon, the Harpy shall rise again!

On a rather more serious side; will there be Dothraki asking for tribute when you get too much money to balance trading/slavery? If you've played vanilla republics you know how many money you can get with these... and I'm afraid slavery will add even more revenue. So if you don't give away a nice portion of your revenues... you get a Dothraki horde calling at your door.

Niiiice!

But I have just one question: will those damn slaves have the option to resist / drink moon tea when lord comes visiting their chambers? (because in such a eugenics marathon as CK II, we know it'll happen :D)

And in addition to last post, one more question: will I be able to buy slaves even with illegal slavery? I aim at situation like: my relative got captured, got sold, and as Family Person, I'd like to buy him to grant him his freedom. Is this possible with illegal slavery?

Or, for that matter, will there, perhaps, be a CB against those who hold your relatives captive/enslaved? Something similar to Valyrian sword CB, I guess (checking for a particular sword/slave trait + kin relations etc.).

most of these questions will be answered when we have completely done the slavery system (by we i mean galle) :D

dothraki we haven't started on so we dont know right now

2013 is still an optimistic release date I believe. Knowing the AGoT team, they still have tons of flavour to add to Essos.
True - but then I would be interested if they want to add slavery before they want to add Essos. I think that having Ironborn version of slavery would be cool, even if you couldn't really sell them except to slave traders off the map.

2013 is a possibility but we have a long way still to go and then we have to push it through testing which alone will be 1-2 months

if it is out in 2013 expect december time

The major balancing effects on slavery will be covered in the third dev diary in this sequence. Suffice it to say that there's a significant downside to filling your city with people who despise you. The Dothraki are another issue entirely, and they won't be implemented until the slavery system is done.

It is possible to force yourselves on your slaves, and possible for them to resist. And if they resist, it's possible for you to have them lashed until they stop (either resisting or breathing). This is a fantastic way to tank your piety and gain traits like "cruel" and "ruthless," of course - and then in nine months you might have to deal with the issue of, well, issue. Fathering a child off one of your slaves is going to be something of a scandal.

Again, ways of fighting slavery will be covered in more detail in a future dev diary, but yes, this should be possible.

Ironborn should, in my opinion, not get any more boons specific to them. They are way too potent and "overpowered" as of now. Being as I've only been able to go out and get 2000 gold in the course of 2 years as ironborn, I think they need to make it so they don't get nearly as much money from looting. Like... 10% of what they get now.

10%? Seriously..., you're joking, right? Every other Lord Paramount can have 10% of the income of Iron Isles. And, as far as I am aware, none of them is reliant on the raiding for most of their income.

But then, in last 20 years in Aegon's Conquest scenario I had two bloody wars, every one lasting as short as few months. And I believe that most of the time I had depleted levies, because of raid on Highgarten going awry – which is double painful, as Iron Island are quite possibly the smallest Lord Paramouncy.

I'd agree with some nerfing of raiding, but I think it should be not more than to 40-50% of base value. Raiding should make it possible for Ironborns to accumulate more wealth than their neightbours – otherwise, it'd be just irritating. Hey!, it's not like you can raid anytime, don't risk your armies on raiding and (with new levy reinforcement rate) won't be prevented from significant raiding for a few years if you won't pull off from North before this crazy-sized Northern army wrecks your.

PS. Also, I dislike rejecting interesting and flavorfull features just for the sake of 'this group is OP'.

Yeah, I made the mistake of using my entire levy to raid. A day later, Aegon V Targaryen: "SUBMIT OR DIE, I HAVE DRAGONS"

Raiding is not overpowered.
