While everybody's waiting for the mod to get patched, a reminder: even with the Steam, you should be able to revert to the old version.

Go to your steam games folder and find the CK2 folder (\steam\steamapps\common\crusader kings ii\ unless you moved the folder), right click on it, choose "restore previous versions", choose one from the list before the patch was applied and click restore.

After that you can make a copy of that folder and let Steam keep autoupdating the actual folder as much as it likes.

I can't get that to work...

First time playing this MOD in a VERY long time... any recommendation on starting scenario? I have read all the books so I don't care about spoilers.. but it looks like most of the start dates pre-date the books.

Depends on what you're aiming for. I'd just suggest grabbing Iron Isles - as they are most fun to play atm - and just raiding all the way through Westeros.

Startdate... For II, I'd either go with After the Springs (as you have independence war you can win at start) or ACoK.

hey My game crashes on load up I get like half way through and it just mess up I am on 0.46 and am using the 1.09 ck2 patch. Any ideas would be welcomed as I don't want this to ruin my lets play !

On my screen theres no button to "restore previous versions" :(

It's a Windows option window. You right click the file or in this case the folder and the typical right click option windows pops up. One of the first few options should be "Restore previous version" or alike.
There are no versions to restore if you have it deactivated in System/Advanced/Security/Recovery (or whatever its called on each Windows version).

If you didnt have earlier versions of CK2 on your PC, you won't be able to install any earlier versions. Just to point this out. ;).....unless you use the Betaoption in Steam settings and might get lucky..
(edit: whatever..)

Play the board game.

You could try. . . vanilla. . . it's strange and alien I know, but it is all there is.

As I said a page or so ago, I have indeed ventured forth into that unknown vitsa... But eeeh, Europe is no Westeros.

Play the board game.

Aye, I own it, but alas if only there were others around me willing to play. Plus, I need to TALK to people, and that's just not on.

It is awful how difficult a problem it is to experience vanilla CK2 now. It isn't just the fact it's ASOIAF, it's all the little features and titbits too. Bah XD

I'd tell you to try out The Winter King or an overhaul mod like CK2+, Price and the Thane or Project Balance, but I'm guessing they're all broken like Winter King is.

You can still play the Prince and the Thane if you do the beta option on Steam. That's pretty much the only good mod you can play at the moment. I guess the fact that they haven't updated it for like 6 months is finally paying off!

It does still crash at random times though.
