Version 2.71 is now available!
I was unhappy with some lacks in the MENA pack, especially in the Seljuk aera. There was also no women asset in the release. Fixed and fixed with 6 models (incl. variations).

nice, steppe people need more love

am I the only one who find their models so much more low quality compared to the other ones? it might be the lighting which makes them look worse but their beards especially look so bad in game

Brigandine is actually a segmented armor (yes like the lorica segmentata)(but also with smaller segments) which is covered in a colored cloth. Fun fact: brigandine was most popular in Italy, especially in the 14th-15th centuries, where they would pair it with segmented shoulder plates, pteruges, a tabulaccio shield, a standard era sword or spear/pike, and a decorated barbute helmet. more important figures would also wear these same items but fancier and more decorated + a sort of cape/cloak. For good examples look at the Palio Di Siena soldier costumes

anyone look at this?
also whats the historical example for the Roman Crown?
also the Helmet Of Constantine has a very similar backstory and design to the iron crown of lombardy, so maybe thatd be something worth taking a look intoView attachment 718802

I'ts not "Roman" per se, it's an approximation to all the early Medieval cyllindrical crowns:
"Romanesque" would be a better name.

More teasing to help you waiting for it then ;)

Central african high noble (Edo) and western african high noble (Akan). Did you know it ? African pack will contain 30+ thematic models, my goal is to provide at least 1 model per social class, per sex and per region (west, central and east africa), and a lot of extras. Stay tuned soon for more teasing!

Oh how nice. Might even like to wear the left headdress, or something similiar, in real life.

I´m also now, with the announcment of the scope of the next dlc, even more excited about the community flavor pack. Being able to create new cultures and being able to influence which clothing style will be used gets even more exciting when theres actually such a huge amount of amazing attire to choose from.

Hehe ! Many plans are sketching up in my head, but I'll need at least some preview screenshots to start laying some plans. It sounds very exciting indeed and I can't wait to see how it looks.

Hopefully I'll be very busy meanwhile and African pack is coming along nicely.

Is there any scope in this mod to rationalise the choices of headgear in addition to expanding said choices?

It would be wonderful if the choice of whether or not a woman wore a veil covering her hair was linked to her traits. For example a chaste woman would cover her head and neck, whilst a lustful woman known for fornicating would be exposed. The extent of veils, their trimmings and colour (pure white was a sign of wealth to maintain) as well as the styling of the hair underneath were all important signs of status as much as crowns and clothing.

Considering the current way the assets are assigned this would be extremely complex, with a lot of code intrication.
I sent a bunch of suggestions to paradox, including this one, that would make it much easier and easy to maintain over time.
So is there a scope for this ? Yes.
Is there a scope currently ? No, at least not until later in the game life cycle or until paradox gives more customizability that doesn't required 50 lines of code per model.

Support from paradox would be amazing. The vanilla assets are lovely and with the modded additions as feast for the eyes.

It would be an amazing level up if apparel choices were less arbitrary. It could tie in so nicely with personality poses to be able to judge a person.

I always manually change my children to have better clothes because it looks so odd for princes and paupers to be dressed the same.

Could you take a look at the Pope’s clothing? The current one is really ugly and a-historic (and uglier than the catholic bishop clothing)

historically, Popes should have something more like this:
