Continuing on with the Star Trek Beyond binge... we're going to establish - in the absence of any other canon - that Jaylah's species are the Lyridians, mentioned in Voy by the Think Tank:

Two phenotypes for each gender, six clothes. For now only one hair style, but I'll probably do a second pass on them in the future to get more options in, as well as some alternative head marking styles and civilian clothing.

But the think Tank are from the Delta Quadrant. She isn't.

Couple of things on that...

The think tank operated over a large area - in canon - and we can presume this was due to advanced propulsion tech. Example, by the time Voyager meets them in Series 5 they're already 35,000 light years away from the Vidiians who the Think Tank has also interacted with.

The area around the Franklin crash site is stated as being likely to have had unstable wormholes - in canon.

The location of the Lyridian system was never confirmed in canon, and B/D border is not unlikely given how close Voyager was to that area around the time of Series 5's Think Tank episode. They're described as expert navigators, which would predispose them to long range exploration.

You may think it's a reach, but I rather like the efficiency of it. If we ever see a canon Lyridian or a canon name for Jaylah's species, will of course change it. But I would not hold breath for either! ;)

So I found out today that the USS Franklin from Star Trek Beyond is actually from BEFORE Star Trek Enterprise, not after, which is interesting. There's a link that explains this: http://trekcore.com/blog/2016/07/heres-where-the-franklin-fits-in-the-star-trek-timeline/

By the way, are there any plans to include the Star Trek Online era? I'm really hopeful it is included in the mod. There's actually some interesting stuff which would add a lot to mod, and it'd also let us include some unique things featured in the Star Trek Online era, such as the Romulan Republic, the Iconians, the Terran Empire from the Mirror Universe which have made attempts to invade the Prime Universe resulting in battles between the Federation, and the Kelvin Timeline from the new films which is in a new expansion released earlier this month allows players to go on a mission to the Kelvin Timeline , which has added Kelvin Timeline ships.

many people demanded that we bring in space stations asap. initially i was kinda hesitant to do this because we have some different plannings for stations in mind. anyways people were right about the immersion aspect so we decided to put them in for now but there will be a complete rework (code-wise) in the future.
here are some screenshots of the bases coming in 0.6:
