The crossplay beta that has been available for over a year. That is the branch that will be updated to 2.6.1, but not until the release of Federations.

Oh, Thank god! I spent a couple of hours on it and the performance was ...the same... Well that's a relief. Yeah, really should have read it properly.

I've had a quick test of the vanilla upgrade and loading some saved games it's noticeably faster and smoother (though also noticed a few minor bugs already). So, going to buy the DLC.

The saved games I tested weren't particularly deep into the game - 800 stars at 2300. Normally I'd see a fair slowdown on that but with 2.6 it felt about as fast as a new game though I didn't time it.

Saw a similar result on a 2.5.1 save. Can confirm that the performance improvements weren't just talk.

I erased the Stellaris archive and reinstall the game, I disabled all the mods and it slows down like normal speed after 30 years.. I don't know if is because It is 30 empires at the same time, I bet it is

Well, they did the optimizations for the mid to late-game. I wouldn't think it would slow down that much after only 30 years, but I'd say to keep playing and see if things get better as you move toward mid-game. Just my US$0.02.

I playing now with 15 empires, sad, I do like have the mess of 30 empires in a galaxy but it kills me when the game goes slow, I did the test, on 30 empires at the beggining of a game and with 0, got 106 seconds for one year

Hmm. After playing several empires from the start of 2.6 it feels slower than the saved 2.5 game. Wonder if related to the AI being better at managing economies...?

If the 2.5 save is broken, you might have whole parts of AI or whatnot that are not functioning anymore. That can free up some CPU time.

Been playing on huge and it performs better than small in previous patch.

So I'd say it's back in the realm of acceptable, and I'm pretty impressed with the improvement, another big leap like that and it'll be fantastic.

Year 2200: 120 seconds
Year 2230: 260 seconds
Year 3310: 560 seconds

May I am repeating myself a lot, but I do not see any improvement at all, maybe as it suggested a friend I should change to a SSD hard drive? I don't know if others also keeps happening like old versions. PD: I am playing on beta

Is your performance on the released 2.6.1 any different [or is that the beta you're referring to??]?? If you have a save game [or games] that you'd like to upload I would be happy to load them and see what performance looks like on my system.

I do not know how upload savefiles and I do normally erase them when I do make new game (as I play always the same empire, is more practical to not get confused)

Maybe is my own PC that struggles but I do not know, fastet seems normal and thats wierd for me.

Edit 2: Here, my empire is the Liga Draco, it dosn't have any mod installed and it should be arround of 20 empires in a four-armed galaxy of 1000 stars.

Yeah I know my economy sucks , my fleet isn't almighty and at the single touch I am down...

Edit 3: I always have the beta installed, appart of the bugfixes that are applied is that ironcally is better translated intro Spanish. Maybe is myself that thinks that the game were faster in previous versions, sure, was slowing down but didn't happened till late game, not after 30 years only.

... Oops ... I don't have Federations so I can't load your save game. Sorry about that.

@Forum: Does anyone here want to load Souli's game and report back on what your performance is like?? If you could also give system specs that would be awesome so we have a basis for comparison.

@Souli I can't test your save either, but try opting in and out of the beta. From experience, it can happen that things get borked upon update and gives ~ the result you report. 120 seconds a year I get in ~2330. Getting that in 2200 I find is really suspect.

Bad luck if you got that after cleaning folder/reinstalling, but the exact same happened to me, twice I think? Thank me if it works. :)
