If a country has captured my spy, and I attack that country, does the spy get executed instantly, and if not, will occupying the country set him free? I could activate a mission to set him free, but war is mere days away. (Danzig or War)

Keep in mind: didn’t tested this myself
To my believe you don’t set a spy free when you attack that country nor will it be killed if that country is in a faction. Most countries are so… gov will go into ex.. (something) and you still need to free you spy.

Strange question about ship groups. When i put one ship group unto invasion support in one zone and i click the next one in the same theater to pick another zone i end up with both groups doing both sea zones. How can you make sure its only one group in one zone and the other in the other sea zone when both are in the same theater?

Use 2 different admirals. All task forces under the same admiral operate in all the assigned zones.

I had some of these already disabled but I'll see if disabling the remaining ones changes anything. Edit: it did not help

It was just a guess from looking at the options. I reacted to your post, so that you can test the changes.

There are comments for Belgium bicycle units, but never changed.

Does the order bataillons in a regiment have any effect on the battle?

Let’s say I want to place 8 inf, 2 art and 2 anti tank; would there be any differences if I did it so:

inf-inf-inf-inf-inf
inf-inf-inf-art-ant
art-ant

or so:

inf-inf-ant
inf-inf-ant
inf-inf
inf-inf
art-art

?

Nope, order is irrelevant

Order is irrelevant to a battle; the stats add up the same either way.

There's a bit of significance to the arrangement when it comes to expanding or adding to the template. The columns expect to be of a similar type (infantry, armored, etc). I like to think of a column as a regiment, so they get the triples (or pairs or quads quints) of infantry or tanks.

The order can have an effect, in an edge case. The type of division (e.g. infantry, artillery, special forces, ect...) is set by multiplying the amount of battalions of a type by the weight of that type. The one with the type with the highest number sets the type of the division and therefore what bonuses (e.g. from high command), if any, it will get. Normally this is not effected by order, except in the case of a tie. To break the tie, the type that is first (from top, left) is the one that wins.

As an example, plain AA, motorized AA, armoured AA all have the same weight, but as well as all having type AA, they have type infantry, motorized and armour, respectively. Therefore if there is a tie involving these, the order will set the type. Let's say that you only have a bonus to infantry, but not the others, you would want to put the infantry one first, so that the whole division gets the bonus.

Note: with the upcoming Barbarossa update the division type is being reworked, so I don't think that what I have described will be the case when it's released.
