Greetings, collective wisdom. Could anyone tell me why my UI is really big? Like, at least 30-50% larger than in the gameplay videos I've seen around? I've tried fiddling with some of the graphics settings, but nothing seems to change the giant UI. It's hard to assign navies or aircraft when the UI blots out most of the map!
There is a thread up about this. Looks like the only thing you can do right now is change your resolution and see if that helps.

We might see UI scaling in a patch to fix it, but I haven't heard anything definitive yet.

we will look into seeing if we can patch it in

Keep voicing your opinion about this. Hopefully it will be fixed. Sadly in the case of Stellaris they went the opposite direction and made it even worse instead so cross your fingers!

Thanks, gang. I messed with the resolution a bit, but it didn't change much. I'll see about pestering the devs.

How does one make a new theatre?

Ha! Gonna pay it forward.

Make an army - it will show up under an existing theater, but when you have the new army selected, you will see a "make new theater" button just under your existing theaters on the right side of the screen. Just right click to add your new army to the new theater.

So in my first HOI4 game, I am trying tiny Tibet to just focus on the basics. I went fascist, took Bhutan and Nepal and am now at war with China. I waited until Japan DOW'd China and made good progress. Then I used the recover core state justification for that western Chinese state that Tibet starts with cores on. I then declared war. That means that Japan and I are fighting the same enemy but in different wars right? Neither of us are in a faction. It looks like Japan will win. Will I get a chance to claim that one state in the peace conference? That is all I really want from China.

As Germany. If I trade rubber with the Netherlands, while being at war. Do the material come out of their mainland, or will I probably loose all my convoys trying to get the stuff from Indonesia.

As a puppet. Can I become independent on my own ... e.g. playing as Facist India.

Do you get lend-lease back when you cancel it? I think you get planes back. But does it apply to all equipment?

So if I put troops on the various pacific islands, then assign them to an army. And I want them there to basically just defend the islands. I assume I have to leave them with no battleplan? If I give them a battle plan, will they start zipping all over the pacific ocean?

As Japan I went for an early war against the Netherlands for those sweet oil and rubber but after having occupied all those sweet province, it downed on me: How the hell do I declare peace now? I don't think I can invade all the way into the Netherlands proper and since I went into forming my own faction, I can't rely either on Germany to take them out. Am I stuck in war until Germany decides to get them out of the picture or is there another way?

How does one disband old planes/rockets/etc. that you don't want anymore? Can't figure it out and now I have a bunch of useless rockets just sitting in a stockpile.
I don't think you can disband them. You will just use them if you run out of the newer stuff.

Is there a button to stop a fleet action (such as search and destroy) and SEND the fleet back to it's home port, because if there is I'm having trouble finding it.
There is a Hold button next to the other actions. It won't send them back to port, but it will allow you to send them manually without worrying about them going back out on the mission.

I purposely leave specific defending units out of an Army so they purposely don't show up in a "theater" and mess it up. But I suppose you could use the "garrison" button (may not be called that - it sends troops to VP and other points of interest).

They should add a "stop action and go home" button. Maybe "repair NOW!" would work. Because when I use hold, I keep forgetting what their home port was. It names the state only, not the province :-(

So does annexing a country completely makes any resistance disappear? I had resistance in a half occupied france. But as soon as I annexed the, it was all gone.

Is this WAD? Makes having the mechanic at all kind of pointless for 90% of the times.
