I have a question I don't yet understand. What controls who takes occupancy of a province? Playing as Australia, noted Turkey joined on Axis so thought I'd try for Gallipoli achievement. I did a naval invasion of Italian Rhodes, and instead of me getting it, it went to Greek occupancy? Now every Turkish territory I push into is turning blue for Greece not Green for Australia? I've taken Gallipoli on my own rushing it with motorized, but not achievement as it's Greek occupied.

Only solution I can think of is to clear out my troops and hope Turkey beats Greece and then try again?

You can request the territory from Greece. The AI will generally grant occupancy as long as you're contributing to the war. I'm not sure whether this will give you the achievement though, as I'm not sure how it's triggered.

Quick question, how do I produce CAGs (Carrier Air Groups) for my carriers? Is there a specific tech I am missing for them or is it that any plane can be shoved on a carrier?
Each plane has a tech that must be researched so that a carrier variant can be produced. To research the tech, click on the small carrier icon in the upper right of the specific plane in the research tab.

You will then be able to produce the carrier variant of the plane.

Hi guys,

I am playing as Germany and did the "Demand Slovenia" National focus thing to invade Jugoslavia. I have everything except a small bit of Bosnia which Italy got and which I can't ask from them. But now I can't do the "First Ljubljana Award" National focus. Does the "Jugoslavia doesn't exist" condition means I have to wait until WW2 is over (Since Jugoslavia is in the allies and therefore some kind of exile government)?

Not sure if this has been asked, but...

What does the red sections of the naval region mission assignments indicate? Why is it red, and what do I do about that?

It doesn't seem to be red for my submarines, just for my non-submarine fleets.

I thought it had something to do with the tooltip indicator that says "We know too little about this region: 0.00%", but that is present for a sea region that is 100% green for me.

Anyone know anything about the red colored areas in sea regions when assigning naval missions?

Where do I see war casualtiy reports? I remember in the WWWs, Daniel would bring up a screen and say "I killed a billion Russians and only lost five men." Where is that screen. Also for Airforce

Hi! I'm new on HoI (in generally), and a little noob, but I'm not sure if it's normal... I've 22 divisions for attack Yugoslavia, they've only 4 for defense, and I'm loosing the combat. In these divisions I've some tanks too... What I'm doing wrong?

On the other hand, Hitler sent me a few divisions for help me with Yugoslavia and when arrived... Nothing. They're stopped on my territory, doing nothing, and I don't know how can I use them.

Thanks so much.

I don't know if there is a casualty report that says what you personally have done like that, but if you look at the war status, there are numbers of troops lost per nation.

You'll need to change your trade law. Trade laws dictate the percentage of your produced resources that you will export, as well as other bonuses and penalties. They're in the Government tab (click your flag), and will cost 150 Political Power to change.

Wait, what can' we simply end a specific export ?
Actually as Italia, I am trying to join the allies, and in that way I want to stop exporting aluminium to Japan, but It seems I have no option for this.

Trade law will only allow you to dictate how much of your countries resources are allocated to military production.

You don't have specific control over exports, as governments don't typically decide how the private sector does business (of course, some governments do, but I'm not trying to bring politics into the discussion). Opinion does have an impact on who can trade for your resources, so once you are part of the allies you won't really see resources going to axis members.

Correct. It stops the hindsight bit where the player embargoes Japan and Germany at the beginning of the game.

There are focuses for some nations to try and embargo but in general you can't (assume people are buying through 3rd parties)

Out of range of your naval bases for your ships is the current assumption.

I'd love to see some info in that tooltip, or find a way to check naval range stats...

The sea region with red area is the "Western North Pacific". I have ports in the "West Emperor Chain" sea region, which is bordering it. Wonder what the numbers are for the range between the West Emperor Chain region, and the Western North Pacific region?

I found that but unfortunately I won't get Gallipoli as that appears to be in the Instanbul state and Greece has a core there apparently so gets -1000 modifier to giving me that state. They gave me, some other parts of Turkey though. I now understand the problem though is that I turned Turkey blue for Greece because I kept at taking from a blue Greek territory. I just don't understand how I ended up on blue Greece territory when I did a Naval invasion of Rhodes and landed to an unguarded province. Shouldn't it have been occupied by me?

If you click on the numbers in the bubble (the 83% or the 68%) it opens up stats for that specific battle. Each unit has an attack and a defence value.

In my initial games I had colonial troops with fewer units than normal and no artillery so they lost a lot of battles. Since you are playing as Italy your troops start in a binary formation giving you smaller divisions than most countries.

You have 255 land experience - go to the training & deployment panel and click on the template for your infantry. Add extra units to it (assuming you have produced the items you wish to add).

If you attack troops in the mountain and they have artillery defence then it is VERY hard to shit them.

Also there is a combat width so all 22 divisions your sending aren't helping - most of them are probably stuck in a reinforcement queue.
