I have two questions (as Germany) =
1) I made an army with a general to guard north part of the French border (Alsace) - the army has about 9 divisions, but only uses 3 divisions - so one division in each border provinces (3 provinces total), the rest is a few provinces back. I made a battleplan to guard the border, why is the AI only assigning minimum units amount? We are not at war.
2) I made a 9 division army to guard the Netherlands-German border - I create a plan to hold the border. The AI doesn't move any division - so 9 divisions in on border province, the other ones (contain nothing).

How to handle this?

Are you sure the divisions are assigned to the front? Divisions then need to be assigned to the plan, although when you create a plan any divisions you have selected will be assigned to it.

You can select one of the slacker divisions and re-assign it to the plan (there's a button to assign divisions), and see if that changes anything.

When you've got an army with only one associated plan, you can also just zoom in on the plan and read the text. It'll tell you how many divisions are assigned to it- if it's not the number of the divisions in the army, some are unassigned.

Is there a way to prioritize a specific division to receive upgrades without changing its division template? I know with aircraft squadrons there's a 3 button set-up allowing reinforcement/upgrade priority but I haven't seen anything like that for land divisions.

Do you loot equipment from defeated enemies? (capitulation, not peace conference)

I just conquered Hungary, Romania, Yugoslavia and Bulgaria, all capitulated, not a single bullet was looted from their armies...

Are there plans for patch 1.1 beta coming out this week? I want to buy the game but I want to see the most broken parts fixed first.

Build divisions tab. Then edit divisions- you can set three levels of priority there.

Plus I really like this- top left "Division equipment" button. You can set types/levels of equipment that template receives.

You get some stuff if you annex them before they join any major alliances. Once WW2 starts, you get nothing.

If an area is a "wasteland" is there any way you can build factories in such provinces?? I've researched all the industry focus and I am improving the infrastructure too......or are such area's just dead provinces that you simply cannot build any factories/naval yards in??

You didnt assign them really.

Several solutions:
  1. Select the whole army (click on your general) and then use <ctrl>+lmclick on the assigned border of your army. By that you assign all units to that command.
  2. You might have left over commands you didnt delete. Pause the game. Select the general and set the army to garrison a random province. A popup will come up stating you delete all orders. Accept. Now create a new command to cover border and adopt your battleplan. This last step will delete the garrison order anyway. Unpause.

@Wildcat_PL Give them another order, then delete the order. Unless there's some shortcut to unassign order I don't know of.

How do I use ship convoys to transport divisions from a friendly province to another friendly province? I have troops in N Africa that i want to send from Tripoli to Alexandria via convoy but i can only get them to travel over land.

Maybe use shift to give the order to move to the sea an then to the harbor you want them to go to?

Assuming you're not doing this already: move the troops into a territory with a port, then right click on another territory with a port.

They won't automatically insert sea travel as part of a larger move order that doesn't begin and end on a port.

If the troops are in a port then right click on the port icon at the destination. Clicking anywhere other then the actual port icon in the destination province will mean they try to walk there instead.

Reactions:
  1. Pause the game, detach and reattach units to army.
  2. Or instead select those units and make a new command for them in battle plan.

There's also an edit battle planner that you can select then press <h>

Perhaps I wasn't clear in the question. I know how to add units to the front/order. But how do I detach them from existing order, without detaching them from the army. I just want some units to perform a special task, without AI retaking control after the order is finished.

you mean outside of battle plans?
