Combat report:

As we had hoped, committing a full Division was enough to outnumber them pretty badly. There were two or three thousand of the enemy present (as far as I can make out from the fragmentary reports). The Battalions that ran directly into them took some casualties - these are light Infantry, after all, not heavily armored space marines - but in return they simply shot the crap out of the enemy frontally while other battalions pushed deep around their flanks. Multiple reports of a breakthrough.

The original 22,000+ tons of Jerx ground units is now down to 1,200 tons.

One more combat round should wipe them out.

No friendly losses in the second combat round, while we shoot the snot out of thousands of... what?... support personnel? Technicians? Mine workers?

Gotta love the line that says "Shots 74,820... Shots 81,718..."

Those Light Infantry are all Lasers. Lasers in both hands!

There is nothing on the Comet except 594 units of low-gravity Infrastructure. Life-support for about 3/4 of a million people.

No mines, no DSTS... nothing but some life support.

... what were the Jerx DOING there?

Well that was a fun distraction. Not sure it was worth the rocket fuel, mind.

We now know that the Rodents work as intended, and that our "naked dudes with two Lasers" load-out also works as intended (at least against Jerx).

Setting up a bar, methinks. Something with plenty of rum and scantily clad bearded ladies. That's what all the supply units were for.

Hopefully the strippers weren't hurt.

... alien strippers... anyone ever heard of Eccentrica Galumpits? She was mentioned in the Hitch-hiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Or a breeding camp. Having figured out they can't mass-steal slaves from Emu, they might have gotten the idea to steal just a dozen or so and breed them up to more people before bringing them home and pretending to have caught them in the wild.

(So once more something weirdly cultural)

Nice operation. Good to see our new doctrine and troop types in action.

Yep. If anything is appropriately absurd, that one would fit the bill.

The usual builds.

Still no reciprocal treaty. We must have been rather close to war when I finally decided to pull out. They've added +113 relations since then and still no treaty.

With the Jerx 'pacified', the Operation Pacification force returns to Earth orbit.

Planet Harmony now holds more than five million tons of troops, with another half-million-odd tons on Earth awaiting transport.

Re-tooled for 40,000-ton Anomaly class shielded AWACS / Jump Tender / AMM-PD Battlecruisers.

Can't lay any down until the slips are clear... and I'd prefer to set up some pre-builds first anyway.
