You know the bad corner of the galaxy ? I know it :

Even after, I met two Fanatic Purificators... Yeah, the galaxy isn't a safe place anymore...

Even after, I met two Fanatic Purificators... Yeah, the galaxy isn't a safe place anymore...

Now I'm just imagining a galaxy of scum, inhabited by:
A barbaric despoiler
A criminal syndicate
A fanatic purifier
A devouring swarm
A determined exterminator
A livestock slaver
Then you have an inward perfectionist trying to wall themselves off from the maniacs, while the xenophile FE watches in horror at what the galaxy has become.

And then you wake up. What a horrible nightmare !

How do you turn on debug view and can it be done in an ironman game?

Console Command "debugtooltip" and nope.

Finding names of deposits can also be done by unpacking the ironman.sav file and editing the "gamedata" file. Search for the star name.

This can be done with ironman games (and also can be used to fix catastrophic bugs if you're comfortable learning the file structure and editing).

How does one find a save file on a Mac, and playing through Steam? Because I am not seeing any sign of a save file in the Steam files.

Storing Savefiles, configuration files or anything else that needs writing rights in the gamefolder was a bad idea when we did it under DOS and Windows 95 and it only got a worse idea ever since. Putting them there is a giant beginners mistake.

Paradox games put their savegames into your Documents Folder. Except of course the cloud saves - those are in the Steam cloudsave place.

The Grand Herald, found in this particular system is suspicious.

Psionic linked consciousness plantoids when I happened to find the baol? It can't be a coincidence.

The Aliens put the earth stargate in the egyptian desert....

Egypt, the most central point of the whole planet, site of one of the most fertile river flood plains and in a region that more than 6000 years ago was lush and green?

Probably a good place for a Stargate.

On funny and weird stuff: In my current Fanatical Purifier game I found the Cybrex and the head of Zarqlan. A very special combination.

I think someone misread the blueprints when they were building this starbase. Using an enigmatic encoder to scramble flight data doesn't really help when there is no flight data.

So this one annoys me a bit, because the game seems to decide between robots and synths, which should not necessarily be treated differently, but okay... However, how do you construct a cyborg robot? That is, by definition, not a thing.

Finally we have the last endgame result I managed to achieve, before lag closed me out of the game. 80 million fleet power... The game gave me an abandoned science nexus, then let me conquer three or so more and let me build my own on top. So with at least five science nexusses (what is the correct plural, anyway?) and an empire geared towards research and nothing but research, I managed to build some extremely nasty, angry fleet. As you see, there were no survivors.

I wish I could have triggered three endgame crises (this plural is correct, I looked it up!) simultaneously, just for some ragnarok end times battle.

Well... Modern architecture is certainly vehemently opposed to any concept of beauty, but before the grey, cubic modernity of concrete and asphalt that surrounds us today, it was, as a matter of fact, customary to build architecture in harmony with the landscape, enhancing and accentuating its beauty, going with nature, not against it. So yeah, an ecumenopolis could very well be a naturally beautiful planet, with rivers and forests intertwining with architecture, parks covering the roofs and so on.

edit: Before you guys disagree with me, I will warn you: If you do so, I will post pictures of my home town, which has received special honours for being an exemplary city in planing and living quality. It is not. It is a city planning desaster and everyone who lives here hates it long enough until they can move away. It is called Friedrichshafen and apart from 500 metres on the lakeside it looks bleak, grey and soul crushingly boring, oh, and you have traffic noise literally everywhere. So do not challenge me on this one!

It's perfectly reasonable that you could have pretty parks incorporated into an ecumenopolis - in fact, I think that it's probably a very good idea to do that. But those parks aren't natural, they were created as part of the process of building the ecumenopolis.

Arguably very true. If we were to incorporate the Amazon River or the Grand Canyon into an ecumenopolis, the "natural" part of natural beauty becomes arguably. But then again, it is good enough flavour wise for me.
