Thanks, but the file still came up as an attachment, rather than a picture like the others here. Is there a way around that?

Oh, then you have the file, I take it? Then just drag and drop it into the forum post and as soon as is appears beneath your post window, you can select whether to have the thumbnail, the full image or even all images at once.

I might be willing to believe that the home world of a species of treasure hoarding rats still has something resembling a river delta somewhere, but a temperate forest? Especially with that dragon lurking somewhere? Yeah no, thats not happening.

Well, why not, though? Nature is relentless and sooner or later life will cover the surface, ESPECIALLY in a former ecomenopolis, because of the microbial diversity such a well connected and densely pupolated place would host. This alone would give evolution enough tools to basically cover everything with life, especially if given millenia to do so.

And if your wondering why this is my first colony, I'm playing a Life-Seeded Empire. Apparently Relic Worlds get around the gaia world preference issue.

That is good to knnow.

So I formed a Federation with my neighbors, and as usual made contact with more empires. However, they were unusual to say the least...

There are so many things wrong with this statement that I've no idea where to start. What borders? What fleets? Since when are Trader Enclaves a bunch of xenophobic Hegemonic Imperialists?

That's the fallback greeting when the empire can't use a more specific ones.

There are a few empires ingame that use it because they were never given a more appropriate one. Barbaric Despoilers, Criminal Syndicates, etc.

Apparently my psychics are so powerful that they can give an entire race of space-elf cultists latent psionic powers just by occupying their homeworld. Yeah, not just this planet; but the entire species is now Latent Psionics.

Thinking about it now, they probably just took the ascension perk and it coincidentally happened while I was fighting a war with them, but it's funny imagining my soldiers landing on their planet and giving everyone psionic powers. :p

Also, if you're wondering why they're called "Servants of Gilbert", it's because I'm using some of Quill18's 2.2 empires.

Apparently, if a species' name starts with a special character like an apostrophe, the game still considers it a valid "letter" for ship prefixes.

Idk if that's intentional, but I really like it. It's cool to imagine alien languages affecting how they name their ships.

The one good thing about the Galactic Nations Assembly is that you can reform Fanatic Purifiers by calling a crusade on these misguided souls. (And winning it and deciding to give these lost souls a second chance.)

(That, and I have a good helping from a mod that allows me to rival basically everyone and anyone. Doubt I can pull it off otherwise.)

I'd love to see a Democratic Crusader declare war on a Fanatic Purifier, as I could see their reasoning:

"They want to extinguish all life in the galaxy? Pff, who cares. If they attack us we'll put them six feet under"

"I heard they're not a democracy"

"TO WAR I SAY!"

"PREP THE FLEETS! COMMENCE ATTACKING IN-"

"Sir, our level 7 admiral was just elected leader."

"... Welp."

My science ship managed to survey this planet despite an AI fleet battling a group of drones literally right next door. (It did actually register as being engaged in combat at one point, but thankfully the drones were too busy attacking the AI empire).
Also, I refuse to let this thread die!

Yah, back in the day when stations were built over planets, I had cases where a science ship would be examining debris over a planet and suddenly be "in combat" when the opponent started building a new one. But, since it wasn't getting shot at, the science ship just went about its business. Once it was done, it flew away at the reduced combat speed and left the system as normal.

So, combat only interferes with things when you start getting shot at :p

First time I've bumped into a hive-minded Military Commissariat

They grew so much:)

I uplifted them merely two centuries ago and they are already building such glorious thing! This is third science nexus in galaxy - one built by me, second repaired by me and now my protectorate is walking in my footsteps. Adorable!:D

The one time I decided to go Synthetic (along with getting the Cybrex chain). Count 'em, there's FIVE zro deposits within my empire. I also had a scientist that was psionic at some point, and assigned them to society so I could at least get the zro distillation tech later (including that unity buff from psionic theory), but nope, they died before the option showed up.

I like the idea of my empire being sad that the foe couldn't play its part.

Yes yes. The doctrines of faith truly are immutable, even to us fanatic materialist cyborgs. Thank you for these very material gifts, with these we will build many new c̶y̶b̶o̶r̶g̶s temples on Prophet's Retreat.

Can't wait for more interactions with the Fallen Empires, in the meantime I guess we'll just have to enjoy the memes.

Gotta love Zark Zarqlan's head. :p

So... is it a carbon planet or an iron planet?
