Mad King James and uh Leagas i think i am sorry I got carried away. Can you both forgive me? I will drop the islam events I have a whole new set of events in my mind now that I will work on later on tomorrow or i guess later today i should sleep soon!! I hope i didnt upset either of you I just wanted to make a contribution.
Nothing to forgive. The important thing is this. Delete those islam/marriage events, urgently.
My other piece of advice to you is don’t go writing masses of events just yet, propose your ideas in this thread carefully and with good (and I mean good) explanations and see what kind of a reception you get for them. I joined this thread in its infancy and I still feel I have to fit in with Krunch's/Harvard's vision for this mod. I am quite happy for them to edit/delete anything I submit because quite frankly I am glad to be a part of it.
can we reach a compromise? if we cant let them be sunni can we at least discuss putting vinland in muslim tech group? That'd make me happy
Yep, really really good. I am working on a small monarchial event for the micmac to spice up their formative years. Please feel free to comment on it.

Remember muslim tech group doesnt mean they are muslims...

Now THAT sounds doable! If they start in the Orthodox group (as I propose) then the conversion to Catholicism puts them back in the Latin group, BUT if they choose instead to go totally closedminded and rigidly cling to their old beliefs, they get put back into the Muslim tech group
If they opt for religious freedom for all in Vinland, they stay in Orthodox and get more 'Catholic Missionary' events. (double than normal )
how about this. an event like 'bountiful fish" that add +1 to tax province and gives like +100 population and 50 coin. i dont think that is overdoing it since a huge fish haul would increase their trading power with the micmics
hello i think being in muslim tech group doesnt mean you are muslim you just think like one. that is enough for me. Come on guys!! take your sliders off narrowminded for a minute!!
We need more random events, and this is usable. I would maybe consider dividing it in two events:
- One 'bountiful fish'-event that give cash (one good catch don't give improved long-term effect)
- Improved tech/methods for fishing that give tax/pop adjustment.

I agree. This sounds like a good outline of the tech. development
i have a question..Mad King James said alcohol was a major part of Viking life thus they'd object to the no alcohol islam rule. If i remember correctly the NA natives were devastated by the effects of alcohol. Either:
a) Vinland has no alcohol.
b) Vinland knows how to make it and we can have events to maybe give stab hits to the micmacs and hurons when the braves get drunk and go on a rampage

Option b). Definitely!
Actually, the Norwegian law gave harsh punishment to anyone NOT brewing beer to Christmas. If you didn't brew you lost everything you owned and had to leave the country

is orthodox really the right tech group to start? At that rate in the 1500s they'd be developing firearms!! Maybe move them into orthodox if they choose to accept catholicsm and then later on give them some other option to move them into latin. but they are isolated and probably would not develop technology at the same rate as russia and turkey!! thats just my opinion though. but i dont think they are exotic yet not quite..there yet. maybe later on they can choose to ally with denmark-norway not an actual alliance but a boost but then again that would mean protestant but i think that is the best option for a latin tech move.
james, if the alcohol event makes tribal elders happy when you dont sell, ought it not make them a bit upset if you do sell beer to the natives?
