I have asked before and gotten nowhere, and it is unlikely now i personally believe.

Maybe pending a new release according to havard, but i dont hold up much hope in truth. Most of the development and note taking i am doing on my own forums now, not that this has been noticed at all.

Two other groups of teams agree with me it seems.

To be honest, I can't at all see why this should be a reason. As far as I know, Paradox doesn't have to pay more for the vBulletin (I may be wrong though...?) no matter how many sub forums they have, so why not? The IFU forum has absolutely zero activety, but noone question their 'right' to have a forum of their own. So why can't eg. The Vinland Scenario, which consists of more than 70 pages, get one? I don't understand...

It's too bad though. If you could provide me with my own sub forum for my mod, that would be great. I fear, however, that it - along with the other teams that moves - will lack contribution and attention from this rather large and often helpful forum. That's why I hesitate.

Well, I hesitated in the beginning to move to another place too; of course we had to  because of obvious reasons, but that hasn't stopped activity at all. The E&E forums already have more than 1000 messages, and we're only there for a week!

The people who are interested, will come over. The problem is keeping the mod properly advertised here so that newbies can find the link, too.

I think the actual problem with creating more forums is the lack of moderators. More scenario editing forums will mean more work for Havard to maintain, and he is probably hard pressed as it is (plus he moderates the CK forum).

You are right about the IFU forum. I think most development on that is done offsite anyway, so maybe that forum should be closed?

I think I have to comment on this, and on a general basis:

The main "problem" is not moderators. Paradox Plaza is packin' plenty of moderator powah

There are several things considered before we open a new sub-forum.
- First, it has to be for a clearly defined project with enough traffic to need it. For this I like to see that the project get going and stay afloat - not die off from lack of attention. Lets say I've had requests for sub-foras from projects long dead by now...
- The other thing we have to consider is server capacity... The current server is struggling and is, as you might have noticed, stripped for a lot of functions to manage to stay afloat until we get the new server (see Patric's latest announcements for info on that).

I can't see any new subforums open until the new server is up, but after that there are several projects here that will be considered, ok?

So now that the new server is up and running, you've started considering a separete forum yet ?? *impatient* *not trying to be rude*

I am now doing development solely in my own forums (note taking pretty much). I understand the reasoning behind not being able to provide forums... interest has dropped to such a low state here it has no virtually becoma a one-man team. i hate keep asking if anyone is here, its' really not my way to be so aggravating. Rather do this and get annoyed day in day out i have decided to simply "do it for myself". In truth i am quite happy with this arrangement now...

To provide it with a sub forum now would be as wasteful as providing one to the IFU was.

There will be new releases, but development (by me) will occur on my forum. If anyone wishes to assist please make suggestions there.

Feedback regarding the latest release is fine, but the version i am now working on is considerably different. It is far more concerned with the narrative story behind it.

Well... You're losing me then... :(

Mainly because my time is already stretched here, and will be more so with the upcoming CK beta. I just can't imagine I'll find the time to maintain a presence in a different forum atm...

That's an odd statement. How much time do you need to register in a new forum, browse it occassionally, and post as often as you do here?

Main point is I browse here anyway, because I'm moderating. I'm a member at Apolyton too, I drop by there from time to time, but it's very random when and for how long...

And if I may say: I can't see what good it would do to the project to "withdraw from public" from a EU2 related board with thousands of members and hundreds of visitors daily... It sure will drastically reduce the pool of potential helpers to the project.

Havard

If you would kindly note, i havent actually withdrawn this by the definition of the word. This forum, because it is the game forum per se, is still very definitely the main point of contact. The public dont ever tell us, in appreciable (or any) numbers, that this is even of vague interest to them.

As for drastically reducing the pool of potential helpers... to what... nothing? There is no help here, and there hasnt been for some considerable time, reducing that chance to an even slimmer margin will have neglible effect. That is, i think, a very fair statement to make in my eyes. I see no reason why we cant announce it here, yet do the work elsewhere. I need the ability to post several threads, i cant do that here... i can on my domain.

Krunchy

Pointless imho. This thread, as stipulated by havard, generates NO traffic. Principally because those thousands of members, and hundreds of guest don't tell us they like it, downloaded it, want to help. It's that kind of "laissez-faire" attitude that has turned progress on this mod to almost turtle speed. For me, the creation of a new subforum, is not even a secondary concern. Personally i don't want to see it created.

Stupid question; where can I download Vinland Fantasy Scenario? I have glanced around this and a few of the other threads and I cannot find a download link.

Thanks

Hi

I've just downloaded your scenario. But for some reason i can't start it by the icon on the desktop and if I correct the moddir, I can't select the shield of Vinland. I had it working, but I had to reinstall EU. Anyway as far as I've seen it, It looks like a nice mod. One I think I'm going to spend some hours on.:)
