I work for "Histmag" (http://www.histmag.xcom.pl), polish e-zin which is generally about history, but we also publish articles about strategic games and other things. We want to create a really good page about Europa Universalis and other games created by Paradox. Here in Poland there is no good site about those games and we are going to change that situation. Site is already available (though still in developement) here: http://www.histmag.xcom.pl/parabellum (it's in Polish of course).
We want to know if we could publish the Vinland scenario (with info about the creators) on our page. We want to be sure, that we don't violate anyone's copy rights, besides, our site must be "perfect", and legal, so let me know if you have something against or if I can put the Vinland in the download section.

I just made a program today that basically splices two strings into one, making it perfect for those colonynames. So, using a website with some basic information on it, these are some of the names it generated:
svanhellir (info: swancave )
bjarnwegur (info: bearway )
hárskogur (info: tallforest )
kyrbjarg (info: cowrock )
skybakki (info: cloudriverbank )
villturfold (info: wildregion )
fuglland (info: birdland )
hundurbaer (info: dogfarm )
raudurhlid (info: redgate )
svarturthorp (info: blackvillage )
blomheimili (info: flowerhome )
hesturbryggja (info: horsepier )
loftfloi (info: skybay )
snjorvatn (info: snowlake )
vínberferja (info: berryferry )
glathurhellir (info: gladcave )
hvalurwegur (info: whaleway )
reykjurvellir (info: smokeplain )
thinghowe (info: meetinghill )
brattabakki (info: steepriverbank )
heyhóll (info: hayhill )
mjolkstada (info: milkplace )
Now, I wouldn't use all these names as colonynames, but hey... And, let's just finish it off with one more random generation:
thokaholur (info: foghollow )
morgunnvin (info: morninghagi )
grænnhús (info: greenhouse )
thorskurstrand (info: codfishbeach )
myrkurfjall (info: darkhill )
grashlada (info: grassbarn )
trévik (info: treecove )
ormrhellir (info: dragoncave )
grjótbakki (info: rockyriverbank )
ulfhlid (info: wolfgate )
ottarfloi (info: otterbay )
hárwegur (info: tallway )
villturhóll (info: wildhill )
raudurhöll (info: redpalace )
hestursjór (info: horsesea )
vínberheidi (info: berrymoor )
reykjurstada (info: smokeplace )
heyholm (info: hayhomestead )
viskasund (info: fishsound )
selurholur (info: sealhollow )
Thokaholur (or Þokaholur) sounds like a neat place to live![]()
I'll host a beta of the tool. One downer though: You need the .NET Framework package from MS - a 20MB download if you don't have itOriginally posted by Languish
Many thanks. We will definitely use this![]()

Why NOT? If we all took this attitude, you'd still be programming lamps with on/off switches.Originally posted by Peter Ebbesen

Please note, though, that updates are relatively frequent...
I am overhauling the scenario at the moment, as consistent interest from original team members has sadly dwindled. This redesign means that it will be worth checking back occassionally for updates.

As Languish said, C# is a relatively easy language (AND a bit Java and C++ like), and the .Net Framework provides an extensive class library which makes a LOT of stuff pretty easy to do and fast to accomplish.
Maybe that's why?
